After waiting a whole month to watch this and knowing that episode 2 is out there, ready to be watched to know what you're talking about..the urge!!!

Or wait! I will watch it here next week to see if the quality is better. And I will watch it again when my Bluray arrives in October without the shower steam...

Sometimes anticipation is better but in this case I think the shower scene is better... if you actually watch it. Now or next week

Just in case you didn't see edits on the first post, but happen to see this, a new discussion thread has been started especially for those watching only on Crunchyroll (as a spoiler-prevention strategy). If you just started watching this on CR and want to discuss with reduced risk of spoilers, please join us here:

I find that the Monogatari series is not your usual 'brainless watcher' anime. A lot of the work is based around clever wordplay and subtle hints. The watcher actually has to fit pieces together to understand what's going on. It's also supposed to be psychological in many respects.

My friend calls it 'an anime that's not for dumb people' lol....well, that is a bit over the top. But you do really have to pay attention. I like that. This anime is only as good as the amount of attention you put into viewing it.

Being fast on the pause button helps a bunch, too...

Regarding whether or not the next episode will be a recap, which we had no conclusive news on unless I missed a post, the preview for Kabumonogatari has 8 - 17 in the ending frame. I can't read the surrounding characters to know for sure, but that may be confirmation that the next episode (8/10) will be a recap.

Most of the stuff that's said in the cuts don't add a whole bunch. It might says something that might say a character's subtext. I like it, but if it's bothersome, than don't bother with it too much and just watch the show.

This episode is especially hard to watch considering I just watched Nekomonogatari (Black) on Saturday!

Yeah, total recap. Looks like something that CR would skip when it catches up to this point. Then again, maybe not if they don't get Neko Black...

And... Kabuki begins, awesome! Only sad it is only 4 episodes, already after one episode they are skipping pages like crazy...

And new character, Ougi Oshino!
