It's the only ongoing show that I watch other than Naruto so I'd say so. I'd consider Naruto if there weren't so many dull filler episodes.

Unfortunately this will probably be the last arc to be animated. There is one more arc in the manga but it is short. The manga is not over though. It sort of feels like the end of act I and the beginning of act 2, which doesn't exist yet.

In one piece terms think of it as the whole set of adventures before the straw hats entered the grand line. The whole manga up until now and to the end of the arc after the chimaera ant arc is pretty much that, the collection of small adventures before the real adventure starts. Unfortunately the manga artist takes so many breaks who knows when we will get to see that real adventure, and we will probably never get to see it animated.

Isn't there two different arcs after this one?

But either I looked up how long the Chimera Ant Arc is and its like 158 chapters long so we will be in this arc for a while.

I should get back to this.
But I'm still not feeling like watching anime. I'm even like 2-3 episodes behind on the ones I was watching from the spring season, they became boring.

from the first episode i knew HxH was superior well, even though it took like 10 years to develop to this point.

its builds on top of itself. it is still retaining alot of element that it is slowly adding which gives it a unique depth and evolution.

i don't see one piece holding anything to hunter x hunter other than the huge support and fanbase that makes it so amazing.

the only thing that worries me is that it will probably cancel after this arc is finished, and will continue with ova's just as the previous series has been doing.

at the beginning if felt like they childproof the show and slowly got back to the hxh style that i like, and it was finally reached with the chimera arc.

any who what elements of the series did you find lackluster previous to the chimera arc? chrome?

Yeah it definitely is. Only Attack on Titan comes close for me right now. Though if you read the One Piece manga you know the next arc is gonna be the shit!!!! Might be the best yet.

The episode where Chrollo was looking out the window and there's a classical music playing in the background is one of the most epic scene in anime history. I can't handle the awesomeness... I just can't.

The Requiem scene:

It's epic in the 1999 version, in the 1999 version's 2nd OP (best HxH OP for me) and in the 2011 version. Ah that Chrollo!

Nothing about this show is remotely close to anything I deem to be watchable at a fanatical level. Pretty much any show that starts screeching near the 100 episode mark is already disqualified simply because the episode count alone tells me where the show is going in every single arc (the good guy wins?).

It wins the "background noise champion" award between the others of its caliber, I will admit that and only that much. I find watching Attack on Titan to be phenomenally exciting as a non-manga reader though, despite its pacing issues as of late.

On a side note, you seem to make a lot of threads that belong in the Polls forum...

You're welcome. Follow the rules next time.

Doesn't watch show.
Decides to give an opinion on it.
Hilarious.

And the good guys do not always win in HxH. The main character (Gon) isn't even the strongest (and the last couple of episodes in HxH just proves it with a certain someone's fate). Hell, even at his strongest, he still pales in comparision to the current arc's big bad.

Just a heads up, from someone who watched both, AoT has more animation flaws in just 13 episodes than the 80+ episodes HxH has so far. And after the initial shock of the first two episodes, AoT turns dialogue heavy with maybe the last couple minuets dedicated to 3dmg (which is apparently where all their budget is going to). Even with the recent episode, most of it was talking (because anything else, and you would get more purple bricks, teal smoke, and still-frames/horrible transitioning).

Wrong.

I have watched this series. Oh man, hard work stuffing that throw wasn't it?

Want to bet that the main character finds a way to win despite all of the useless details you gave me? I'm going to go ahead and put my money on "he wins somehow". This applies to every show of this nature.

This is a personal conflict I'm sure, but I don't take the time to notice nor am I bothered by "animation flaws". Bad animation style...sure. Animation flaws? Yeah, I don't really care.

Right now HxH is my personal favorite ongoing anime, though I am enjoying AoT as well. Really interesting story line and it is one of the few anime where I enjoy watching the intro every time and don't skip it. (though I usually skip the ending song, this particular Yuzu song doesn't really seem to fit with the current episodes; the first two endings were so epic compared to the newer ones imo.

Gon beating this current arc's big bad? I could use an extra $100 but since you're probably a kid, I'll be nice.
Bet your account

"Don't take time to notice"
Hilarious considering anime is a visual medium.
Visual. Do you understand?
I'm not talking about the style.
I'm talking about the animation, which if you didn't care, should just go ahead and switch over to the manga.

Edit: Lololol CR doesn't have a close account feature.
If I'm wrong, and Gon defeats this arc's big bad (which won't be for another couple episode), I'll paypal you 30$.

Older than you, my friend, and them's not fighting words...I just am.

Sure some enemies take more than a few arcs to build up the main characters strength. Some main bad guys get multiple arcs of being "there" just so you know there's somebody waaaaay stronger out there. It's all writer strategies.

It's not as if I could truly enjoy an anime with a blindfold on. What I meant was simply that tiny flaws like bricks being purple or footage being reused for a brief moment doesn't bug me. To me the dialogue and a strong narrative is probably the most important thing. I would say that's a lot of peoples most important thing, despite it being a visual medium. Can you explain that?

I try not to judge a story by how predictable it's going to be, but instead how the story is being told and its pacing.

For example, take a look at The Last of Us. If you have played it or watched any of it, you can easily foresee most of the events in each story arc. However, the way the story unfolded for the player still held its impact.
Or an older anime that always comes to mind; The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

On the flip side, just being completely unpredictable doesn't necessarily means it will always be enjoyable to watch. The Lost series by JJ Abrams was known for its mysterious plot devices. For me it became so ridiculous as each mystery was solved to only lead to more obscure mysteries... I just couldn't bare watching anymore of it.

Anyhow, watching the HxH 2011 was unexpectedly enjoyable. Even though I knew how the story was unfolding, having watched HxH 1999 and read the manga, it still twist my stomach each time a character dies and is torn from limb to limb... or have moments of joy with Gon and Killua growth and success.
