HxH definitely doesn't go with "the good guys always win because thats what good guys do"... And anytime they do "win" its completely reasonable from the scenarios (background, preemptive plans, "bad guy" motivation, etc...) they're in... And it generally is not without cost.

This weeks episode HxH vs AoT = AoT being a recap while HxH is not = HxH wins!

Yes HxH is the best tied with Gargantia and Naruto Shippuden. The worst one is Attack on Titan, even ignoring the animation flaws, poor pacing, still frames, 1-dimensional characters, predictability, and the poor art style, the story so far has been very underwhelming and that would be my main gripe.

Attack on Titans spoilers:

Hunter X Hunter is just a much more solid, enjoyable show than the rest. It has an outstanding record of quality to back it up, whereas most long running shows are inconsistently good, and most shorter ones don't reach this level of greatness. Best ongoing anime hands down.

I wonder who can take the credit for the series being as good as it is... Obviously the source material has a lot to do with it. I like the old series despite its terriblely confusing fight scenes and sidetracking.

The writers do a good job and the animators are also top notch. VAs and the composer are deserve shout outs too. But the directors really do their part bring this whole thing together. Kudos to everyone involved.

For me personally Hunter X Hunter is as good as its ever been. The speed this arc has developed at is far better then those which have come before it, the tension and feel is on par with the finale's of previous arcs and we are right at the beginning of this one.

Its top of the tree right now in my humble opinion, and for me is up there with any of the really great anime's of any sub genre we have had in the past 20 year.

I definitely enjoy every episode of Hunter x Hunter that I watch every week. I haven't enjoyed AoT as much as I did during the start because of the odd pacing, but I do understand that they don't want to cover all the content in the manga too quickly.

I admit that HunterxHunter 2011 is good but the original HunterxHunter is so much better

Despite the animation flaws in Attack on Titan, I think it's still pretty good. Art and acting are amazing. The story might seem a little slow at the moment, but i think you're all just being spoiled and nitpicky.

I don't get why people complain about the pacing seeing as how HxH had it's own pacing issues in some areas...but this is their second time doing the anime. The first batch of HxH back in the 90s had major pacing issues. Of course they'll do a better job being able to redo an entire anime series.

Regardless of what you call "pacing issues" in AoT, I like the dialogue in AoT. Meaningful dialogue helps to reveal backstory, character development, etc. I've already read the manga so I KNOW that every single piece of dialogue in the anime has meaning (except for the Jean Filler parts)

@the AoT vs HxH argument: AoT has better Art (unless you don't like the art style). HxH has better Animation overall (although AoT 3DMG scenes are wicked awesome, it's not very consistent compared to HxH). Art = / = Animation.

So far, I prefer AoT, but there's a lot less of it. I was only able to watch 1-5 of AoT back to back, whereas I watched 1-86 of HxH. Sure, eps 8-11 were a bit of a lull in the action, but jesus, think of how much happened in 1-7? Plus, 13 was pretty damn good. It was bound to slow down at some point, and It's a shame tomorrow's going to be a recap, but still, I think AoT is the best thing running right now.

That said, I love both. There isn't much in it between them. Both are beautifully drawn and animated, well voice acted, well paced, and well written. AoT had the strongest start to an anime that I've ever seen, but it's too early to say whether they can keep it up.
