Well Otaku means someone who likes anime or manga. So everyone basically on CR.
But, if you want to be hardcore then move to Japan and live a life of anime.

When you do this for pleasure.

In all honesty, I found a documentary on this. But beware, as it's quite long.

To me Otaku means someone who is a zealous fan. It started as anime exclusive, but it now means someone who knows a lot about specific things. I.E. I can be a film otaku, a game otaku while my bro is a tech/phone otaku.

I proudly call myself an otaku, considering I've always been an outcast, even when I tried hard to fit in with the others. Even though they treated me like trash and mocked me. I only truly became myself after watching anime, it helped me truly become a individual. So I find being called an otaku an honour.

Some call me odd cos I like being called geek too. For me, it says I'm not ashamed for enjoying stuff and happy to find others who enjoy it despite being classed as a loner. I finally found something that eases the hole that's been in my heart for so long.

Ultimately, to be a true otaku, you should enjoy what you love. Have a passion for it, don't hide it and embrace it. Ignore those that damper it for you cos they are not living, you are the one living and never forget who you are.

A waifu?

Well for starters, you can read up on the actual history behind the word otaku and its correct definition. You can't claim to call yourself something and not know what it means. Furthermore, I suggest researching the original Japanese meaning, not the Americanized one which is misused the majority of the time and is not limited to just anime, manga, or Japan.

Another thing, you're asking a question. The forums are for discussion, not questions or advice. If you need that, than we have a general help/advice thread.

So I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to lock this thread.
