Normally no. My character usually has blue or green hair... Not that I haven't had blue or green in my hair before..

No, its much better to play as someone else Not saying it's not fun to be me, but if you had the choice why be you? Have fun and be who you like to be.

I am not ashamed to admit that in any game that lets me create a custom character I just try and make the hottest lady possible... C'mon its a fantasy after all!

...I play as an Argonian in the Elder Scrolls games, so by default my answer is no.

For other games, such as Dragon Age or Mass Effect, not really. If I don't go with the default model, then I only try to make something remotely similar to myself, not a carbon copy character.

I never make my character look like me.
I always make the character look appropriate according to its class...though my preference differs from others.
My idea of a warrior-looking character may differ from others but if I plan that character to be a warrior type then I make it look like a warrior, same goes for a magic type and so on.

I always play as a male character since I'm male. :D
If I get bored then that's when I make or play as a female.

I once asked my brother:

"Why do you always make female characters?"

He responded with:

"Wouldn't you rather look at a female's ass the entire game instead of a male's?"

I think that's a fitting answer.

Concerning the question:

No...Never.

Highly depends.

Now, am I playing a fighting game with a character creator? A RPG like Dark Souls? Something Harvet Moon related? Pokemon?

Look, in the new Pokemon games I can have brown skin and black hair. Being a girl is no longer fun, I get to be me. I'd rather make a girl than play Mr. White skin brown hair.

Then you have Dark Souls, in which making a chick is nice an all, but the Chosen Undead is YOU, not insert-fantasy-not-you-here. You're the hero, you're swinging the sword like an idiot, you're casting the spells, you're invading other peoples games and making it hard for them to play. Hells yeah I'm making myself in this game.

AAAAAND, since I can't make myself in GTA V, I'm a chick.

What? They ain't got no Asian-Americans there! I look more like Johnny Gat than any character in GTAV

And of course, I have a Skyrim mod that lets me switch bodies with anybody I want! I'M THE DRAGONBORN, AND I AM WHOEVER I WANT TO BE!
It's odd, it lets me play a chick while still having overpowered self-insert Dragonborn guy in the world, able to switch back to me at any time. It's like, the perfect mod to this question.

No. When I first began playing online games, I always made my characters male. I just never liked how the female sprites looked.

I made two last year for the first time ever on Eden Eternal. They do not resemble me since I never thought about creating a character to look similar to my face.

As in generally attractive, then yes. Because I am super fly

But with specific features, then no, not really. I keep the sex the same since it makes me happy when I can actually play as a lady. I tried the "make a person you find sexy" thing before but eh, it made me just want to awkwardly flirt with men irl. Can't have that.

I stay close to my appearance but I stay off sometimes.
Mostly because my red hair is so darn hard to imitate.
