I think it's because The natural predator of humans are other humans.
Without conflict, anyone can live anywhere. No matter their mental state.
And one of the best ways to find conflict is in different personalities.

Declare war on anyone you find strange!

I consider being called "weird" a compliment being normal is too boring!

Trust me when I say that normal people can be fun too. Think of it this way...have you ever a really funny comedian who's stand up didn't have any profanity included? I have. You see that comedian has to be really funny because he can't use that extra 30% of his performance on random cussing like most comedians do. He's has to be funny enough to make drunk grown adults laugh AND fill in the extra 30% of time with actual jokes. Being normal most people I meet think they figure me out at like work, but are always surprised when they go out somewhere with me.

Yeah but with me people who just met me openly tell me I'm weird or strange I just say with a simple smile "I know."

ahhh I see, I get the he's a good/boring guy. I'm OK with it though for I have nothing to prove

Uh what do you mean by that?

The "ahhh I see" part was me just understanding you point of view. The rest was me showing commonality with our experiences of others judging us without fully knowing us.(the responses we get from others may be different, but might not be soo true).
I know...its text, so misunderstandings happen.

Yeah something like that heh remember you basically read about my whole life

if a person isn't weird, they aren't being themselves. Also, who cares ?

I see the looks I get, pointing, laughing and hear all the shit people say about me often, but it doesn't bother me one bit. I get called Jesus at least 30 times a week by total strangers.

People think I'm weird, that is their perception, just because it's not really culturally acceptable to have 4 foot long hair and a beard down to my belly button but that is my choice, it's my preference, and it's in relation to what I really enjoy, which is my music, particularly viking/folk metal.

When you think people are weird, mainly because you're judging too early or close-minded and ignorant. If somebody is genuinely socially awkward or just downright crazy then they obviously have social and probably mental issues also, rather than just 'lol ur so weird'. Being a little eccentric never hurt anyone. And besides, just like my example with my metal music, everybody here is in the same boat at outsiders thinking you're weird because you're an adult and you still watch cartoons, and obviously the scale varies from 'yeah I like dragonball' to 'omg nekomimi-chan is so KAWAII :3 I wish I was Japanese and could marry my full size anime pillow. I like to turn my parents bedsheets into cosplay costumes and go to EVERY convention. I want to meet the seiyuu for Rozen Maiden they are so HAWT DESU'. Anime overall is considered nerdy, and with nerdy things, there's different levels of it, and everybody who doesn't understand or doesn't care to will classify you as weird for being a fan.

As for internet 'weird', well you've got so many ends of the spectrum involved with that. Trolling, basement dwelling social rejects, people who think the anonymity of the internet is an excuse to tell everybody their deepest darkest secrets and/or hit on every female in the room. Mainly just trolls though.

The world would be a boring place without them. I mean camon, how cool is it to be shopping at walmart and see someone randomly moonwalk with a shopping cart etc...

If everyone was normal then everything would be boring!!
I have a story too! A few months ago I went to this party, and it was not even a party, more like a family reunion. But most of the people there were distant family, some cousins of my cousins, so technically strangers with no relation to me. There was this guy there named Steven and he was my age so we talked a lot and he seemed cool and normal. But then after I left, he asked for my number and I gave it to him because I thought that we probably wouldn't talk anyway. But when I went home I noticed 5 missed calls and a bunch of texts. He told me he gave me a nickname and he wanted to know more about me. He memorized every single thing I told him about me when we talked. I was really creeped out. But the creepiest thing is that he still texts and calls me, saying Good Morning every morning, even when I don't even bother to answer anymore (T^T)
It may sound kind of harsh, but I am so sick of it I want to throw my phone out the window.

Things like this really fuel a point I debated with somone.

He was on about how he would be flattered and endeered if somone was interested in him enough to stalk and obsess over him.

I pointed out that he wouldn't think that way for long if it really happened but he wasn't having it. But then again he also rubished the very idea that the Yandere archetype can exist in real life.

But to answer the question, I don't know why their are so many nut jobs around in real life. Having worked in video game retail so I've seen plenty of examples.

Online i figure it's part people not wearing the persona they have in public, weather they are just being truer to themselves or joking around varies of course.

Wow, that's, obsessive. Good thing you never told him your address or you'd probably 'randomly' bump into him constantly too and/or have him visit all the time.

And just what, I say, is wrong with being weird.?

It shows passion.

It shows differentiation.

It shows your feelings.

I love it.

I love being weird.

Asking the question "Why are there soo many weird people online or in real life?" is like asking, "why do people live?".
