I know that there are plenty out there who can and do re-watch anime all the time.

However...with me...I just can't personally justify spending valuable watching time on something that I've already seen and already know what's going to happen unless it's been a great deal of time since I've seen it and the details are so foggy that it's almost like watching it new again.

I just can't re-watch a series (or movie, or anything) if I still remember all the details.

There have been times that I've re-watched episodes or sections of episodes to re-create a feels though that I got from that episode specifically though. I tend to experience a strange, almost orgasmic in nature feeling (call me weird for chosen words) when I deploy tears at an emotionally charged scene in anime. It's why I get soundtracks to my favorite emotional anime moments and have a specific playlist. I'll play the song and play out the scene in my head...giving myself that "feeling".

Sorry, had an otaku moment there. Anyways...how about you guys? How do you feel about re-watching a show? Can you do it immediately? Do you need to wait? Do you do it at all? Hit it and quit it? What's the most amount of times you've ever re-watched an anime in full from beginning to end?

I re-watch anime fairly often if I really enjoyed it and it had a very lasting impression, usually after at least a few months. For example I just started watching Toradora for the 2nd time, first time I watched it was about 8-9 months ago. I think the most times I've ever watched an anime is Death Note 4 times over 3 years.

Well, I don't have a problem re-watching anime, but right now I've got so many animes that I haven't watched before. So I want to use the time for them instead.

Certain animes, yes. I don't really like to, because I feel like I'm wasting my time on a plot that I already know, and I can see what's coming next. But I've re-watched Durarara!! and Baccano, because let's face it. They're rad animes. It's fun to re-live it like a lost memory, I suppose.

I often re-watch anime. There are so many good ones out there that take you a few times through to fully enjoy/understand it. I watched Cowboy Bebop a few times and Higurashi many times. Then there's my guilty pleasures like High School DxD.

I remember shows very well, so I need at least a few years before I'll rewatch a series. The same is true of books, movies, etc. In general, I'll prefer to watch something new than rewatching the same series. But, sometimes, it's just fun to go back and rewatch a favorite. It's like comfort food.

Yeah i can re-watch an anime however i usually won't unless its been a significant amount of time I'm talking at least over 6 months usually. There is a good amount of shows i haven't seen yet though that i plan to see, so i don't plan on re-watching any animes for some time.

I used to re-watch some series, but nowadays not anymore. I do re-watch some episodes that I really enjoyed though or at least from some of my favorite series. Otherwise, generally not anymore and I very rarely re-watch a movie.

I feel the same way as the OP.
I don't really see the point of watching something twice, whether it be anime, movies or shows.

As always, there are some exception to the rule...
- Cuticle detective inaba, I could watch this anime infinite times
- Spirited Away, watched 3 times
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (the first movie only), watched over 20 times, this was when I was 12 years old... so don't use it against me...

As for the rest of the stuffs I watch, I'll probably rewatch them when I turn 60 years old. I don't see myself rewatching any shows I've watched already any time soon.

I'm with you! I don't usually watch anime unless it REALLY had an effect on me and I just have to watch it again. That's a main reason I don't replay games either. I just recently finished The Last of US and tried to replay the campaign on the new game + mode. But I just couldn't do it. Already knowing what happens in the story really takes my drive away from replaying, even though I loved the gameplay.

Yes, some I can watch 10-20 times very easily. Others no, I can't. Ones I want to watch again I buy on disc. Ones I am happy watching once I just stream.

Shows like Tari Tari and LoveLive! I can definitely watch over and over again. The music helps with those shows.

The Monogatari series too, I can pick up something new every time I watch them.

Comedies as well, good ones I laugh at every time, especially the shorts.

Heck ya, I can re-watch the animes I enjoy. Plan on watching the entire season of SNAFU once it is finished airing, again (since I am watching it as it comes out now).
Have watched Skip Beat 3 times (and read the manga twice). Others that I plan to re-watch in the future would be Skip Beat (again), Pet Girl, Toradora, K-on, Love Live, GJ Club, Clannad, SAO, and so on, and so on.

Despite I've already lost count of all the mangas I've re-read, it's rare for me to re-watch an anime... I think it's because I don't have much free time even to watch animes for the first time, so I'd only re-watch them if they're awesome. One I'd like to re-watch someday is Fate/Zero. That's because it's my favorite anime and I really liked almost everything about it. Most of the times, I have re-watched single episodes or sections of episodes, as you said. Not exactly to re-create a feels (I just do this with music, OSTs, and I feel almost the same way you do, so I understand your "otaku moment" perfectly, haha), but to remember good fights or funny moments...
I prefer to wait a few months before re-watching something. For me, those funny animes with short episodes (3 minute episodes, for example) and anime movies are the best to re-watch ^^

Sorry if I made any mistake, english is not my first language ^^''
