I find it difficult to rewatch anime that has a very strong plot and with weak character development.

The characters are the number 1 reason that makes it rewatchable over and over for me. Which is why I can rewatch anime like Gintama
or Kimi to Boku , Polar Bear Cafe, Ixion Saga DT, Chihayafuru and the latest that I rewatched a lot is Hataraku Mao Sama.

Also I choose only certain episodes to rewatch...

Next... the genre in the second reason , comedy and Slice of Life comedy is easy to rewatch becuase after a long day at work , I want to relax and laugh abit before i go to sleep

Yu Yu Hakusho and Kinnikuman. That's it

Kinnikuman because its my favorite anime. Why the hell not?

Yu Yu Hakusho because all the characters never get old and that show has one of the best arcs in anime history so go figure.

I've rewatched some of my favorites nearly a dozen times. I'd rather rewatch a good show then spend time watching one I am not interested in...

I can watch an anime again if I liked it.
But most of the time I don't because there are other good ones out there.
I have rewatched some of the anime I saw before my three year break.
I remembered the basics but not everything so it didn't bother me.

I don't usually re-watch animes or re-read mangas unless the manga is really good!

I rewatch certain anime when I'm showing it to my friend. Sometimes she would pick out all this anime that I already watched so I would end up rewatching it with her. Not like I don't like it, I like watching a anime that I have already seen beacuse I can answer questions about scenes she doesn't understand.

If I really enjoyed it, wouldn't mind a 2nd run. Same goes for manga.

two words...Gurren Lagann. it will throw away your common sense and make the impossible possible. (e.g. make you re-watch it many times over)
that orgasmic feeling you said..well i get that almost every moment of this anime.

For me there are some spectacular animes that just have that quality where they can be watchable almost anytime anywhere, however I get what you're saying as for the most part watching something where I know what the ending is going to be and where all the major plot points are coming up is just feasible as I'd rather use my time watching something new

I can't for the same reason. If I know what's coming I'm not as entertained.
