Have to say this is getting beyond annoying....

It used to be just a random fluke, but now seemingly every video I attempt to watch (always in 1080p when possible) starts off just perfect and then just randomly stops or starts stuttering horribly. At first it almost never happened, but now I can't watch a single video all the way through without it coming to a halt.

I know I'm going to be asked all the usual support questions so let me cut to the chase, it's not my PC, it's not my other PC, it's not my other other PC, it's not my laptop, it's not my Galaxy S4, it's not my Tablet, it's Crunchyroll's encoding/buffering.

I've done all the troubleshooting, tried multiple browsers (IE, Chrome, Safari, Firefox), changed DNS, updated all drivers and programs, and it's the same issue on my HTPC / Win 8 box and my Gaming Win 7 rig. (both 64 bit)

Even tried turning security software on/off, windows junk firewall, etc.

All "other" streaming sites work flawless. So, other than hope Crunchyroll drops a few $$$ to upgrade their servers are there any suggestions other than using those "other" sites?

Just chiming in to say the exact same thing is happening to me. Noticed problems starting about a week ago, every episode I watch randomly stops or stutters anywhere from 3 to 10 times an episode, and usually the video doesn't continue until I refresh the entire page. Watched an episode of World God Only Knows earlier today and had to refresh 4 times. Was just trying to watch an episode of Leviatan, and I'm not even 6 minutes in but have already had to refresh 5 times. Came on the forums to find out what the heck was going on. Kind of ruins the anime watching experience having to refresh every few minutes.... Is 2am (pacific time) on a Tuesday night really a peak time when everyone logs on to Crunchyroll and stops up all the servers? Hmm. Tried all of the troubleshooting as well, zero difference.

But judging by the past few forum posts, it looks like Crunchyroll is well aware of the issue so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

The latest on PC Streaming!

We've just added another CDN to our system and are currently working out playback problems & distribution.
About 25% of our content is now being served from the new CDN as we do stress tests / etc.
This is why it may seem like there are a few more burps, hiccups, stutters, buffering, and what not - at the moment.
Ultimately we're building towards a system that will toggle you back and forth depending on the stress on the stream / servers you're connected to.

Sincere apologies for the problems, but we're working to bolster the system in the long run.

Until then if you want to troubleshoot issues / provide feedback for operations, please feel free to reach out to us via Contact Us and let us know the exact issues you're encountering along with the show / episode you encountered them on and we'll run from there!

Best,
-Baker

(Praying for a day when all streams are clear and smooth!)
***EDIT*** Parens above is a joke. It means there are no emails for me to answer, which means my job would be easy.

I've certainly noticed an improvement the last couple days. Had one episode that just wouldn't load, but the rest were ok.

Crunchy has been near-flawless for me the entire time I've had a subscription, whether I'm watching it on my desktop, laptop, iPad or PS3... until the last week or so. Now it's nearly unusable. Both my friend and I have had increasingly bad problems with random stuttering, freezing and such. Said friend and I--she's in Canada, I'm in Seattle--often synchronize watching videos together and despite significant geographic separation and no changes on our end, both of us are having the same problems. And started having them around the same time. It's not our connections and it's not our devices.

Something changed recently--and not for the better. Whether that's on Crunchy's end or somewhere between us, I'm not sure, but it's really frustrating.

Same thing with me, 1080p stutters and freezes with me. Same thing as original post, it's better recently, but really, I have a a 150/75 connection and this shouldn't be happening. I swap to 720 for a while it's fine, then freezes and I swap back to 1080p and it freezes again after a few minutes. I've tried everything but just given up and if it freezes I swap then swap back every few minutes. Very infuriating, though.

Crunchyroll, just this morning, started working terribly for me. Super choppy playback. Any video I load is like this.

I have all the latest graphics drivers and flash and all that jazz. I have a very high internet speed. I've done everything in the troubleshooting guide. Including making the flash player settings to what is recommended, changing my DNS thingy, everything.

I am super confident that the whole problem is solely on crunchyroll's side. Netflix, Hulu, Youtube all work for me perfectly on 1080p, here I get super choppy on any of the resolution options.

Bah, those crunchy engineers better start fixing this stuff.

Can't reliably stream episodes of Beelzebub or any anime for that matter without a freeze happening and requiring a page refresh or time skip.

No problems streaming 1080p anywhere else other than CR :(

I hope this gets addressed soon.

I used 720 for a long time but went to 480 and seemed to help.If anything its more of a blip bet keeps playing.

I can't get over how bad this service is in terms of playback. Every video I've watched takes me 20 minutes just to watch 5 minutes of video because it stops, stutters, flat out freezes or refuses to play. Or any combination of those. I've tried multiple DNS servers, ran pingtest and speedtest more times than I care to count, everything is perfect on my end. My PC has plenty of power. 1080p, 720p, 480p, nothing makes a difference.

I have our Operations team looking at the servers that you're streaming from and following up with our Service Provider.
