It seems like every other evening I have this issue. On Monday it was unwatchable, Tuesday it's fine, and now today it's back to unwatchable again.

Howdy!

I'm showing that you wrote in on May 30th and I responded on the 31st.

Can you check your spam / junk folders to see if we were pushed there?

Can you whitelist support@crunchyroll.com?

Thanks,
-Baker

I'm not really flustered enough to bother going in to an in-depth discussion with support over what my personal PC's issues might be, but I am going leave my voice here in support of the OP.

Last year when I first subscribed I never had issues to speak of, but lately I am constantly finding myself refreshing because the stream will just stop. It doesn't help that I have my laptop hooked to my TV, so every time that I happens I actually have to get up and walk over and click the refresh, just so I can go back to my bad to lie down again. Sometimes it gets so annoying that I have been referring to other "sources" for new episodes.

Just this past week I could not get through 45 seconds of the God only Knows finale without it freezing and me having to refresh. Ended up having to watch it on a different site and that really kind of irked me because it made me think "What am I paying for?", and I hate thinking that because up until lately I have adored being a premium payer.

Similarly to the OP I have very strong internet, a very strong PC, and literally zero issues on any other streaming site.

Interestingly...I never seem to have this issue when I stream from my roommates PS3 Crunchy app (and he's connected wirelessly, to add insult to injury).

The Flash streams for the web browser and the streams for the apps use different content delivery networks.

This issue has been just getting worse and worse. After 19:00 CDT CR is practically un-watchable. Midday it's fine. Hulu good. Anime Network - Streaming like Niagra Falls. Netflix - 1080 In your face. Funimation - well their server has always choked, But CR is rapidly closing the gap to the worst streaming site ever. Fix it. or wave goodbye to your money.

Retread If you put Crunchyroll worst than Funimation I will call BS their site has yet to work properly more than one episode in a row.

I have noticed that changing DNS providers statically has helped out a lot (openDNS seems to have the best service most the time consistantly)
I have 150 Mbps / 65 Mbps for my internet service. This site since it is streaming through your vid card seems to need a better routes. Also remember if the DNS server you are using could have a DDoS attack or is just overtaxed during peak times you will experience issues as well. Two people in the same house could route to the same place through different paths depending on DNS and how the internet is working at any giving time. Welcome to the world of the internet. It sucks and there should be better ways. And just cause you have fast ISP does not mean the path you are taking as those speeds available necessarily to provide the best stream .

I noticed today I was having issues and the DNS addresses I had to change and it corrected but I was having issues with both Hulu and CR.

AS long as you contact support they will help you through it. They are very good and patient about helping with problems here. Just slow to respond sometimes as they have a lot on their plate. But again MUCH better response than the non response you get from Funimation.

I did not put CR worse than Funimation only said that they where closing the gap. Hulu, Hetflix Redbox, Anime network, Oh, Forgot to mention Daisuki, all the news sites I use use the over same DNS. (OpenDNS) They work fine. Logically it's a problem with CR just as Funi's awful service is a problem with them, BTW I've been a premium member for years and this issue has only recently become a problem and getting worse by the day. So far Customer service has only gone through the FAQ - Things I've done LOOOONG, as in years, ago.

Fat PS3 80GB Backward compatible. Latest Firmware.

Can't stream more than one episode on and then the next one take forever to load and then it freezes every couple of second. The console is hooked straight in my router with a cable, no Wi-Fi. Here's the speed I get on my computer. My ISP, Videotron doesn't do traffic shaping in any shape or form, torrents always cap my connexion no matter the time of day.

I also use Netflix and when Crunchyroll is having problem, Netflix is working flawlessly in super hd or whatever they call it.

I watched the same episode on my PC, no issue at all in 1080p. Prety annoying problem as I would much rather watch anime on my TV than my computer monitor.

Can anybody help ?

Receiving insanely choppy playback on everything I watch. Yesterday it was perfect. Today has been horrendous.
Would really love to see this fixed. My computer specs are above and beyond requirements for 1080p streaming.

Same problem as everybody, did all the tests, troubleshooting and nothing. 50mbps internet, flawless connection since I signed it. And changing the DNS didn't help a bit, ESPECIALLY OpenDNS or Google DNS (since I live in Brazil, it's not such a good idea to use a U.S. DNS server because of the distance). And my PC too, can run 10 1080p videos and laugh at the system monitor's face (ok, exaggerated a bit, but you get the idea).
I already sent a e-mail to support yesterday and they sent an automatic e-mail saying they would reply shortly. I'm still waiting for their contact.

For the record, OpenDNS isn't U.S. only, but they don't have any servers in South America:
http://www.opendns.com/technology/network-map
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDNS#Server_locations

Google Public DNS apparently does have a server in South America (specifically in Sao Paulo):
http://blog.archit.in/2012/02/google-public-dns-server-locations-list/

If you've already tried other DNS with no change, however, trying Google Public DNS would be unlikely to resolve the problem. The key for that technique is indeed just to try a different DNS.

I did. I downloaded DNS Benchmark and ran the test to see wich DNS server was the fastest one in my case. I was Terra's DNS server wich is in the same state I live, so it was pretty fast. However, that did not solve the problem. I now logged in my Linux install (Ubuntu 13.04) and tried to see some 1080p Naruto Shippuuden episodes. I noticed that there are times that it works, then it halts. I rewind a little bit and it works again, and then it halts again. After some time the severe stuttering comes back, and then disappears. There are times even 720p are unwatchable, and I have problems with 480p. Pretty weird. But I did notice it ran better with Linux, since pretty much every network related task runs better on it. However, it did not solve the problem, and it's too soon to give it as granted, since I'm still watching that episode, I'll only be sure after a run 3 or 4 of them.

EDIT: Ok. Looks like the problems started and won't go away no matter what. I knew it was a matter of time...
EDIT 2: I just started watching Sword Art Online (I heard good opinions about it) and the problems are the same, so I think it's not restricted to Naruto Shippuuden.
