Same issue as everyone else here, and I've tried all the same solutions with no results. Cannot watch any show currently. Contacted support and got a response telling me to go to Chrome's plug-ins and turn off its default flash player. That was rather unhelpful as the only flash player in the plug-ins was Adobe, and disabling that breaks CR's player entirely.

Waiting for a response from CR support about what 'default plug-in' they were referring to. Growing increasingly frustrated, and with the 40 mbps internet I'm paying out the wazoo for, torrents are starting to look more and more attractive.

The second part of that advice should have been installing the Flash plug-in (i.e., replacing the internal Flash in Chrome with the external component).

IMO, diagnosing if Flash is the problem could be done simply by using another browser, as no other browser would rely on Chrome's internal Flash, and if someone were using Firefox, IE wouldn't use the same plug-in (especially in IE under Windows 8, where Flash is integrated into the browser, similar to Chrome).

So basically, if you get the same results when using IE or Firefox, you've essentially ruled out a corrupted Flash installation in Chrome as the culprit.

Ok, I think I have a clue. Everytime I open my Flash options and see the cache options, I see that it says it's using 2kb. No matter how much I clean it, delete the folder, nothing works. I tried making AppData visible, wich worked, but all the folder are still Read Only, no matter how many times I disable it (one of the reasons Windows drive me nuts. It just flat out refuses to do what you want it to do), it gets checked again. If I dele te folder, it comes back, with all the subfolder but it's about 9mb, when I'm using unlimited cache. And it doesn't matter wich browser, I'm using, it stays the same. Is that normal? I checked the permissions and it was all ok, but I wonder if the Flash player isn't able to cache files into the disks and that's why it stutters or halts that much. I'm still working on solving that (can't find anything on Google, so I'll have to trust in the old fashioned but effective way: trial and error), but if the people who also have connectivity problems could see if that also happens with then, maybe we could solve this using the forums (I think that the openess of forums makes them the best place to solve problems, even better than Support).

Well, I just noticed it now, but I didn't say my specs XD.

Edit: I saw that this also happens with Linux, old or new versions of Flash. I guess there are two possibilities: either I'm completely wrong (since I never paid much attention to how flash works), or there is a bug between Flash and the Crunchy Roll Player.

Everything has been streaming pretty choppy for me today even when I bump down to 480P it'll still stop mid stream to buffer. Even SD is only barely working for me.

My computer: Windows 7 Home Premium, Pentium Dual Core 3.20GHz, 4.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650, Browser: Mozilla Firefox 24.0 and I have a pretty decent broadband connection.

I must join the sad chorus of playbacks stuttering or stopping. It only happens on Crunchyroll, not any other streaming supplier, and this is using the very same hardware/software/internet access that I've used for months.

I do get a reasonable performance when I watch on my iPad, but I had just recently persuaded the spouse to join me in some anime-watching and that's best done on the bigger screen.

The big question now becomes: do the support people at Crunchyroll see this problem, and are they following some action to abate it?

Gonna put my hat in on this thread. At first it was newer/current streamed series that would do the stutter/freezes but now, even older series are starting to do it.

I just got to ep8 of Sket Dance, and it's not even loading lol.

I know some have said to bump down to 720p or lower to get around the 1080p stuttering (which seems to be have the most problems of the resolutions), but 1, my system can MORE than handle 1080p streaming and 2, why do I have to use a workaround?

Anyways, I'm trying hard to do the RIGHT thing and support anime by using licensed streaming sites like CR, Funimation, etc but this is making it REALLY hard to.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to watch a show on Crunchyroll. I have an 18Mbit connection, I shouldn't be having any problems.

Not sure if it is still worth it to pay for premium services. Can't even watch a decent episode without having to refresh the page a couple of times.

Same here. 100/10mb connection and everything else works perfectly but CR has been lacking recently especially on 1080p department with shows cutting off multiple times during an episode alongside stutters and freezes. I hope we get some clarifications on this issue.

Same here,i already went trough every posibility ,already tried different computers, different internet providers from 15/5 to 300/100 on speeds, different dns,and diff locations.
Yes i already contacted CS of crunchyroll;l,did all the tests ( i assume they were fine),they said to try dns from opendns (already had tried the dnsof my vpn,my IP provider and google ) it was the same always.after that suggestion communication ended FROM CS department NOT my part.
It was fine before the service spreaded to ps3/xbox after it the QOS has declined a lot.

Even a 4 min episode of Miss Monochrome was freezzing and pausing so its not even size of the file anymore, for example at the ending on the dance when she shoots at the screen 8 out of 10 times it stutter.1 of those 10 times completly stopped.(yes i liked the ending a lot btw)

I dont see apoint anymore in contacting CS since i know its not me its you guys.

Wanted to do the right thing and support the industry here on this side of the pond but most likely im gonna have to go back to my old habits and of course this is gonna be my last sub.
I can get the shows i want somewhere else at 1080p quality with no 10 times refreshing, lag or no loading and no response other than its not us its you.
Thanks it was good while it lasted.

I've been so sick of CR streams lately. I've barely been able to load 480p or SD streams at times, so I decided to jump on the Hulu Plus train.

I find it funny that as soon as I sign up for Hulu Plus and click a cross-posted video on Crunchyroll, from the Hulu site, I can immediately load and stream 1080p again with no hassles whatsoever.

Dat conspiracy. Let's see what happens if I cancel Hulu Plus next month. =p

I decided to finally go "legal" since I watch anime almost everyday and I wanted to watch new episodes with the best quality and as soon as possible. The first few couple of days were so good that I was ready to pay for a yearly subscription, however last 4 days have been hell. I can't even watch some episodes in SD quality anymore, so now I wonder if it's really worth it to pay for something you won't be able to enjoy. I'm glad there's a free trial, because if the issues don't get better before the 15th I guess I'll just have to bear with the guilt of watching anime for free again.
