After watching the 2nd ep, it really seems like this series will have a much darker tone to it than the original, which is fine with me. And one of the background musics, too, specifically the one where the 2 Jun's are texting one another, sounded like a track from the 1st Resident Evil video game, lol. It kinda creeped me out when I realized that, lol.

Also, I am a bit curious, though, as to the events that unfolded that left only younger Jun and Kanaria against Kirakisho; That's quite the odd pairing.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing where this story goes from here.

I look forward to it too. My only worry is that special episode one was so fast paced, this one was slower. Now I hope the pace will let it finish well and in time. Hope it doesn't take too long to rebuild Shinku who is played by Miyuki Sawashiro, one of my favorite VAs so it was too bad we didn't get to hear her today!

I love Saitou, the store actress baito, her VA is Natsumi Takamori who played Misaki-sempai in Sakurasou among other things. She only has a supporting role which is too bad. Would like to see some actual romance here too rather than just the doll war but I know, that is the main focus...

You know what would really be hilarious? If they spent a whole season rebuilding Shinku, and another season for each and every doll, lol.

But seriously, I was thinking the same thing, though. I honestly don't think they can spend too much time on this since it is just a 13 ep season/series, and they still need to re-introduce the other dolls from older Jun's world.

You know, I kinda wonder, though. How can the Rozen Maidens of the older Jun's world even help the young Jun of the original world? I guess they are going to travel across dimensions/alternate worlds or something? That would seem like the only plausible way. But I guess we'll have to wait and see in the next forthcoming eps!

Yeah, personally, I wouldn't mind if they added at least a bit of teasing romance in it (almost all animes could use some, imo, lol), and I think it's certainly possible still. I mean, older Jun is definitely at that age now...

Yes, and she seems nice but probably too nice... but it is anime so anything is possible! LOL

And I can see the, "I want to see the play you're in!" plot, perhaps the dolls will crash the show, could be fun...

Once they start playing with time and realities, fixing dolls in the "I won't wind it" timeline and somehow sending them into the "yes I'll wind it" timeline...

Haven't read this manga at all so I'm just conjecturing. Fun for once. I don't have time to read anything else, jeez...

Episode 2:

From the perspective of someone who has not read the manga for this, I'm liking this so far. I'm kind of interested where this story will go. I'll maybe read the manga after the show is over to not spoil myself.

TIME PARADOX DESU!!

!!USED XODARAP EMIT <-- Mirror universe Suiseiseki. xD

I liked the second ep, it was pretty interesting splitting the story into parallel universes like that.

Also my mind keeps reading the German as Zuckerpunchen. lol

I watched the first episode. Seemed questionable whether or not I'd stay with it. But episode 2? An entirely different feel--and one that I like. Oh yeah, bleak and depressing, and alternate realities. I'm so there.

I knew that the 2nd episode would be different but I was worried that it would be worse but like you I am finding myself drawn to the show more with the alternative universe direction.

They went from trying to cover too much to making me wish they'd just covered a little bit more.

This puts a lot of my unrest to rest though; will keep watching.

Personally, I loved the first episode. I know the pacing was way too fast, but going in blind and not knowing how much was glossed over (but knowing they had to have skipped nearly everything) I was still able to get into it. Absolutely loved all of the Rozen VA's too so maybe that was part of it.

The second episode was really well done and I wouldn't have wanted it to go by any faster. I feel that would've sacrificed the bleak and jaded atmosphere that they achieved. I hope with episode 3 going forward though they turn it up a bit as far as covering events goes, because I think it's only 13 (correct me if I'm wrong) episodes. Cliffhanger may be nice if they have enough material for a 2nd (4th? lol) season but alot of animes that go in the direction of planning for a second season usually don't get one.

Did not realize that this was not the first season of a show. Without knowing that, I didn't think the first episode was too badly paced, just packed and interesting. Having to go back and watch previous seasons could change my mind as to whether I want to keep watching or not.

From the second episode, I think its safe to say the show will go much more smoothly after having to rush with the summary of what happened beore we meet the older Jun. I keep getting more and more anticipated about Kirakishou, which I'm sure some people will put on their best/most frightening Yandere list somewhere. Won't come close to Yuno but still... she has quite the creepy doll smile (pun not intended)

The art style may take some getting used to. But its really pretty and makes the setting very surreal and gothic-looking (this is a gothic-loli series after all). I also find the character designs very close to the manga, if not spot-on. They look like what the Madoka Magica characters would've looked like if their designs weren't so simplistic. Suigintou's wings, my gosh. They look like something Shaft designed. very cool for my favorite character.

The second episode was a game-changer. I wasn't impressed with the premiere but the fact we're dealing with two timelines makes it very interesting. :))
