After watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood for the 3rd time, Full Metal Alchemist 2nd time (I hope you know the difference) and all the movies in Fall 2012 (because I had literally nothing to do), I started watching anime a lot. Before that I have only watched some Pokemon, Digimon and that kind of stuff as a kid (and all of FMA obliviously).

I think it was Chobits and GTO. I was watching it at a relatives and I had no idea what their names were. After some time I spent most of my life going through anime just so I might come across something that resembled what vague memory I had of those two shows. I did find out eventually, they were both mediocre shows, but will always have a place in my heart.

I never really got out of anime, but a while ago I would only pop in to catch the latest episode of Naruto Shippuden.
What got me back into watching more anime was probably Mirai Nikki or the Monogatari Series, both of which were awesome!

I have to agree with the statement above. Also, i watched SAO (Yeah, yeah, shut up haters) and realized the potential of creativity in Anime.

Outlaw Star showed me anime could be grand, mature, and moving after watching the likes of Pokemon, Monster Rancher, and Digimon when I was younger. Then Eureka seveN cemented my love for the medium, and I've been a big fan of anime ever since. Recently, OreImo reminded me of why I love anime with its great animation, compelling characters, gripping drama, and situational comedy.

I have always liked animation, but I never really got into anime until I saw FMA:Brotherhood on adult swim/toonami. Haven't looked back since.

I've never not been into anime, but the anime that really got me into anime, or basically, the anime that made me switch from marathoning really old anime to watching current ones, was DRRR.
I don't know what twist of fate allowed me to discover it while it was currently airing, but I was hooked onto the weekly format and I've never been able to go back since. I'll marathon an anime on occasion, like I did with Cowboy Bebop, and Gurren Lagann, but for the most part, I can't watch super long shows like Yakitate! Japan, anymore, no matter how good.

I was honestly never bored of anime since then.
So basically, I never get "out" of it to begin with. <3

I watched the localized TV stuff when I was younger...loved Sailor Moon.

And in recent years enjoyed the Ghibli movies and a few others, like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. I knew I'd enjoy watching anime but I had no idea where to start. I was completely overwhelmed when browsing Crunchyroll, and ended up giving up on it for a long while.

What got me started was Idolm@ster. Watched it, loved it and started finding other series I liked. I feel lucky in a way. I haven't really watched any anime so I have all these awesome series I can watch for the first time. My favorites have been Idolm@ster, Madoka Magica, and Anohana so far. I'm currently watching through Sword Art Online, and while I completely loved the first half, I'm on episode 19 and not finding the second half quite as good.
