Instead of having a weekly anime, this is now something all members, even people that aren't active in the group can do.

Soo, This was an idea that I had thought of a while back and one of my moderators had the same Idea SOO here we are.

This thread will be where people can post an anime that they are currently watching and this is where you can recommend it to our other members.

If you are watching Sword Art Online, say, You are watching it and recommend it to others.

Say SAO has already been posted and recommended by someone else. That's OK! We, here at the night owls want to know what YOU are watching, consider us the Government. Just Kidding, don't.

Rules about posting here:

1) Please only recommend Anime from CrunchyRoll

2) Post your thoughts about it, a picture and Link of where others can click to go watch it!

3) You may re-post so long as there is at least 2 people above you.

I'll Start...

My Recommendation would be:

My Teen Romantic Comedy: SNAFU

Its hilarious, unlike some animes out there... *cough*... Naruto.. *cough* the main characters tend to stay VERY close to their development, along with tons of comedy and hilarious moments. :3 If you haven't started watching it.... Click here!

Anohana The Flower We Saw that Day is my recommendation.. Go watch it now; Bring tissues and prepare to cry buckets. I've probably recommended this anime to 30 other people. It is a slice of life tragedy with hints of romance. You will cry during this anime, its an inevitability, like in clannad after story. The story is simply so beautiful; it's a masterpiece.

So, I started watching Vividred Operation last night, and I'm freaking loving it! I don't know how familiar anyone is with Rinne no Lagrange (Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne), but I think it's a pretty similar sort of series.

I'm on episode 4 right now, and the show's been hilarious, in my opinion, and the even the action gets pretty gripping sometimes, which I don't think really happens with these sort of bright, upbeat girls-in-mecha shows. Some of the character interactions are a bit generic, like Saegusa's flashback about "true strength" in episode 3, but there also seems to be a lot of awesomely original interactions as well, like all of the encounters between Saegusa and Isshiki in the same episode.

It has an interesting story so far, with what seems to be a lot of backstory that they'll hopefully be developing in the later episodes, it has a ton of great comedy that's right in my wheelhouse, and some intense battle sequences in every episode I've seen.

So yeah, I like it a lot so far and think anyone who's looking for a good comedy-mecha series should seriously consider checking it out!

I just finished watching Blue Exorcist and it was awesome. I also recently finished watching Sword are online and caught up on Attack on Titan these are both great but not as good as Blue Exorcist was. The character development was amazing, it was like I was like I knew each character personally! Along with character development Blue Exorcist also has beautiful detail, so much emotion is captured in the art. This amazing art and character development makes each fight scene even more intense and entertaining. This is my personal opinion I hope you love it as much at I did.

Utakoi is an anime that I recommend. Its laid back and has alot to do with romance and poems as well as the history behind karuta cards. Any one who has watched chihayafuru would be very interested in watching this because it has alot to do with the history. I will be honest though when I first came across this anime I wasn't interested in watching it because most of the time I like to watch mature or bloody animes lol. But this once caught my interest after the first episode and I was hooked on watching them all. I think this anime can be watched by anyone. Each episode is a different story and each story comes into the other as the anime progresses. It was very entertaining and fun to watch. Alot of them are also based around life stories as well. I recommend this to anyone and it would be a good anime to watch if you are looking for something smooth and awesome! lol. I really did love it! It caught me by surprise!

I recommend YUYUSHIKI

When I'm feeling something that's not seriously but not complete stupidity I look towards YUYUSHIKI. This is a great show that will make you chuckle as the three main characters interact with each other as they spend their days in their club room looking up random things on Google, then talking about those topics. The silly, awkward, and touching moments will keep you watching!

Here's my next recommendation:
Kimi Ni Todoke

This anime was recommended to me by MelloYellow; she told me this was her favorite shoujo romance, and it's mine now too! It really does a fantastic job at developing the main character. The main character is so innocent, which is why watching her go through her struggles finding friends and love so enjoyable. Highly recommend this anime.

Fate/Zero

Throwing another recommendation for Fate/Zero into this thread.

If you've seen Fate/Stay Night, I can understand being wary of Fate/Zero; However, unlike it's sequel, Fate/Zero is amazing. I'll break it down here:

Animation

Fate/Zero has some of the most stunning visuals to be found in an anime series. The animation is breathtaking. They do use some 3D CG imagery, but it's done in a way that doesn't clash with the 2D animation, at least from what I could tell. The action sequences are really stunning.

Characters

There are a lot of characters in this series, however there really isn't a true 'main' character. Yes, some characters do get more focus than others, but they all develop quite well. On top of that, there really isn't a clear cut protagonist or antagonist; all of the characters struggle to achieve their own goals.

Story

The overall plot isn't much different from Fate/Stay Night, with the Holy Grail war calling up 7 servants and masters to fight, with the last pair standing being declared the winner. The interesting part is how the characters shape the overall story. Various character interactions and different ideals drive the plot forward at a nice pace.

Sound

The soundtrack is good. The song choices fit the scenes they're played in well.

Seriously, you owe it to yourself to watch this anime.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou (Link Below)
http://www.crunchyroll.com/the-pet-girl-of-sakurasou

It's a pretty fantastic anime honestly. They do what most animes take 12 episodes to do, and compacted it all into 3 episodes. It was all character development after that. At times, It's hilarious! Then at other times, you get such strong feels you could cry!

Check it out, totally worth watching. I rate it a 7.8/10

Gintama

link: http://www.crunchyroll.com/gintama/videos

I am TERRIBLE at explaining this show since it's so damn wierd, so read the most helpful review here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/gintama/reviews/helpful/page1

Personally, I think this show is perfect in 3 major departments: action, drama, and humor. It took me a very long time to finish since it's 265 episodes long and has no overarching goal in it. Gintama also has a very large cast with their own backstories, and many serious arcs with different villains.Gintama will always hold a spot in my all-time favorites.

Just finished this series (in one sitting!) and I figured I might as well add it to the list here.

Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World)

Imagine a world where telekinetic power is available to human beings. Think of all the good things we good do and new achievements that could help humankind overcome it's current limits. It'd be great, right?

Wrong

Shin Sekai Yori gives a view of a world where telekinesis is discovered in the year 2011. Fast forward 1000 years and you get a world that has been torn apart and rebuilt in order to accommodate a new 'Power'. Following Saki Watanabe, a 12 year old girl born in the distant future of Shin Sekai Yori, you'll go on a journey from the perspective of a child learning about her world as she grows up. The price of the 'Power' humans hold turns out to be far greater than one might expect.

I absolutely loved this anime. The world is so well thought out, it almost feels real. Discovering more about the world and why things have become the way they are makes it hard to stop watching! You'll get a healthy dose of mystery, action, and even some suspense by watching.

As for any really negative points:
-Episodes 1-4 are so good that 5-7 just feel terrible in comparison. Picks up afterwards though.
-The ending itself was good, but some of the episodes leading up to it seemed a little random. Not that they were bad, but it could have been done in a better way, I think.
-The animation quality isn't consistent. There are some episodes where the quality is noticeably lower, but it's not that bad.

Overall, I'd say this one is a must-watch series. It has a compelling story and it's just a lot of fun to watch.

I reccomend these:
Cuticle Detective Inaba
Its about a comedy and action anime about a police dog/human named Inaba and his partner Inspector Ogino, and some along the way the found the crossdresser Yutta, who dresses like a girl.

First episode--> http://www.crunchyroll.com/cuticle-detective-inaba/episode-1-counterfeit-currency-printing-incident-inaba-hiroshi-kidnapping-incident-617337
Tsuritama
For some odd reason i liked this one. It has an odd way about the colors, but it can get fun to watch. Its about a boy named Yuki, who moves more then he can count. Then, he and his grandmother go to a place called Enoshima, a great ppace for fishing. Then a boy named Haru comes along, calling himself an alien. And next we got the prince of fishing, Natsuki. And lastly we got the inidan boy named Akira, with the duck known as Tapioca. Its a fishing anime.

First episode--> http://www.crunchyroll.com/tsuritama/episode-1-panicked-fishing-595873
Durarara!!
My last reccomended, Durarara!!. Its an anime about gangs, fighting, and introduces many different people all at once. I still am kinda new to this, but i reccomend it. I dont want to spoil too much so if i could summarize this in one sentence i would say;" This is an anime that can bring an adventure alive for the watcher to enjoy."
