getting cheated on is awful awful. i've learned through multiple relationships that if a person cheats on you, they genuinely do not respect you. i don't think the act is UNFORGIVABLE. i could forgive them on a human level, but would i remain in a relationship with them? absolutely not.

i don't think someone messing up and cheating makes them a terrible person, however i feel it makes them unfit for a relationship until they can change their ways.

Honestly, no I wouldn't. No matter what the excuse is, no. However, because it's my dad... Well, It's complicated, so I have to at least pretend.

one of my best friends cheated on his long time gf (10years), and now theyre set t o tie the not. I havent lost respect for him because he's a good friend that i know inside and out. He got caught cheating and reallly made it up. So it depends but for the majority NO

Zero respect for anyone who would do that to a person, they are the worst kind of filth.

If you have doubts about a relationship you should honestly talk about it, only if a mutual compromise is unobtainable should you even consider leaving someone. And if you make that decision you should be the one to tell them, it would be heartless for you to wait until they find out on their own.

Temptation is another beast of it's own, but it can be it's own reward if you respectfully ignore the moment and channel that emotion to the one you love.

I really do think it depends on the circumstances. Clearly it's an awful thing, but I can't seem to shake certain circumstances from my head. Say, for example, your partner's still in love with their ex and one thing led to another. I'd understand, but in terms of respect...
I guess if it was a one time thing, and only, a one time thing and they told me about it, I'd still have a little respect for them for admitting it. But, if I had to find out without them telling me, yeah, there'd be much more respect lost.

No, respect is years in the earning, an instant to be lost. Don't cheat, there is no such thing as making a mistake.

In the Shinobi World, those who cheat are scum.

But those who abandon their friends are worst than scum!

I don't really care either way, other peoples relationship is none of my business, unless it's abusive in which case I make it my business..

But as for respect? Sure, as a person.

But I'm not going to enter a relationship with them!

Also, it really depends on the circumstances as other people have said.
