Is this like a guilty pleasure? Maybe, but I would like to know. Mine is Saki. I just love this series and everything about it. With the next season coming out next year. I can't even contain how happy I am. Saki 10/10. One of my favorites and I recommend it to everyone.

We have this thread... but...

I have never actually seen that perfect anime.

I have this view that if you have watched a perfect anime, you don't want to watch anything else, since you're always comparing animes to the perfect one. It is always easier to point out the imperfections rather than the perfect.

I would say Strawberry Panic is damn close.

Mine is Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. I even enjoy the fillers. That's how much I love the series.

I was going to say this as well.

But if we're talking about anime that we know objectively must be flawed, but subjectively we just can't see it at all, then it'd be a tie between Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica.

I've heard people say there are flaws with these shows that keep them from being among the best they've ever seen.

Personally I do not understand what these people could possibly be talking about.

Alternatively if we're just talking about our favorite guilty pleasure anime, then... probably Strike Witches?

Although I only watched that one once, so maybe either Dog Days, or Saki for me as well.

There can be more than one perfect anime though

Reply to OP: For me that perfect anime is Flowers of Evil.

It's not focused on plot, which is probably why is a turn off to a lot of anime viewers, it's heavily focused on characters and art direction. If you watch the anime, there's a part where 15 minutes of the episode was just showing two people walking around the town, no speech, no dialogues, just two people walking.
A lot of people would lose patience with that sort of art direction.

But for me, that was one of the most epic scene in anime. Two characters walking, hand in hand, face down through a run-down town.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I enjoyed every moment of it, but its brand of humour definitely isn't for everyone.

really liked the manga and got really excited for anime, but I watched 10 seconds of the anime couldn't take anime more. I know that its trying be more "realistic" but it would have been a lot better if they stuck to the basic anime animation IMO

No. 6 will always be the perfect anime to.
Yes, the novels are fifty billion times better, but I just remember falling in love with the series when I first watched it.
I've really never loved any anime series as much as this one. (Maybe Evangelion, but eh. Everyone likes that basically.)

But yeah, No. 6.
Quite a few people seem to hate it because there is some dealing with homosexuality, but whatever, their opinions don't matter. There are also people who feel it doesn't do the novels justice (It doesn't, but still cause it's No. 6.) and that is was rushed. (After the novels I can see that.)

Too me ( and im prolly gonna shit for it lol) One Piece is the most complete anime out there. Character devolvement surpasses Bleach and Naruto. I liked how each character had their own arc so you really got to understand each characters back story and its funny how the characters interact with each other with such different personalities. The settings in One Piece are better because each Island differs from each other so you don't feel like every place they visit is the same; whereas in bleach you're either in the Ichigo's hometown or the soul society ( kinda boring) and in naruto your in some village (also boring). Also the balance of humar, drama, and action is pretty good also. I like how even in the most serious moments random goofy shit happens that makes you laugh; like how Vergo, although is serious and straightforward, would have random shit stuck to his face that mad me lol. Furthermore, I hate ichigo as a protagonist. That fact that his swordplay rivals that of shinigami who've been using swords for 1000's of years is kinda ridiculous, also giving him the powers of the three most dominate forces in that world is kinda lame. Don't mind Naruto that much. Although the fox chakra gave him clear advantage over everyone else, he actually trained and work hard to master it. But Luffy is just a boss. Out of all the big three, he's the only one who's actually the bad guy. Going against the government, the 4 emperors, the shichibukai, and the celestial without hesitation. If he was real, he'd be a terrorists. He's literally turing that world on its head. And lastly the powers. Ichigo's power are too generate. I swing my sword and a giant wave comes out of it. Not really unique. Naruto has very unique abilities so thats a plus for naruto. But I like concept of the zoan, paramecia and logia types; and weaknesses of each so victory depends on how well you know your fruit and skill rather than raw power. And haki is pretty cool also. So yeah In my hierarchy it goes One Piece, Naruto, A bag of dirt, Bleach.

I lot of people give Highschool of the Dead so much grief because of all the fanservice, but I personally love it. Okay, I know it's flawed. Typical zombie story with boobs thrown in to shake things up. But I like the characters (they don't develop a lot, but there are also only 12 episodes) and the action scenes are pretty awesome. The fanservice is actually something I like about the show. Yes it can be over-the-top at times, but I like how it's not shy and since there's so much it doesn't feel misplaced (I hate when you have shows that have almost no fanservice except that one panty shot that serves no purpose and is a total distraction).

Do I think it's perfect? No. But I love it, despite all the hate it gets.

Gintama silver soul forever and ever and ever seriously every single episode is amazing and I'm sure I'll never get bored of it (even though the anime might be finished but I still rewatch the old seasons) the characters can be serious and hilarious and are absolutely impossible to dislike. They're all so realistic with their strengths andweaknesses and also voiced by amazing voice actors gintama is also the king of parodies That appear in the most random moments. Honestly humor action drama... Gintama has it all.

I didn't know about the manga. So that's probably why the animation style in the anime didn't affect me as much...

The art style in the anime was perfect for me because the characters' appearance match their personality... and the voice acting was perfect too.

I don't know. This is why I prefer anime over manga, with the right voice acting and art direction, anime is the superior storytelling medium.

Ignoring the obvious philosophical shit-storm that might ensue if I take the word "perfect" seriously, I'd say probably:

Bakemonogatari (or really most things by Shinbo)
Fate/Zero
Natsume Yuujinchou (although I have yet to hear anyone say bad things, I suspect that it's probably boring to a good portion of people)
Humanity has Declined (Really stretching the definition of "perfect")
Baccano (Another huge stretch)
Rurouni Kenshin OVA's (This time stretching the definition of "terrible" -- I've never heard anyone not like this at least a bit, but it's really on the darker side, which not all people go for)
Usagi Drop (A stretch on both counts)

Natsume Yuujinchou: It was such a relaxing anime to watch, the stories were endearing and touching, and I'm a huge fan of the "paranormal" It's probably the only anime that I will ever buy. I can't praise this anime enough, it's one of my favorites of all time and inspired me to write.
