Okay, I'm in my mid-30s and have been watching anime FOREVER. The other day I was looking at old anime openings and came across Fushigi Yuugi. I remember how much I loved that anime when it first came out. Now, I detest it. Miaka is one the MOST ANNOYING "heroines" to plague the screen. It's a reverse harem at its worst. Ugh.

So anyway, do you have any anime that you may have loved years or even months ago, but now you cannot stand?

inb4 pokemon

edit:

Anyway I was obsessed with sonic X as a kid, but then I got exposed to adultswim animes back in 07 and it wiped the floor with sonic X. Sadly even the subbed version is not even entertaining for me.

Clannad AS

too much love for this anime then again having an opinion is equivalent to being a troll, fuck me i'm a troll

when I finished clannad as it was pretty good, a few years down the road i read people are crying, "omg it is so sad" ... nope I didn't have that feeling. mainly because we knew the ending, by "we" I mean a special group of people who have disbanded.

Nostalgia usually gets me by when I watch things I used to like a lot.

I still have a soft spot for Naruto, for example.

But I think I would've liked Code Geass a lot more if it had been one of the first things I watched. Although this goes in reverse too; there are some anime I couldn't stand when I started watching anime that I now think are completely amazing (like Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Serial Experiments Lain, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, etc.).

I should probably give Ergo Proxy another shot too. It's been a few years.

I enjoyed geass when it was airing on adultswim back in 08, gave me somthing to look forward to next week, I'm sure if I saw it in a couple of sittings instead of a year, I wouldnt have enjoyed it as much.

Robotech. Now I love watching Macross, the original before Harmony Gold butchered it...

I used to be obsessed with Pokemon and Dragonball Z and GT. But now I think they're ridiculous.

Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh were good when i was a kid. I still enjoy watching DB and DBZ. Never liked GT.

I still enjoy watching old cartoons though such as: Rocket Power, Bugs Bunny, Tom n Jerry, Ed Edd n Eddy, and more of course.

I really loved Zoidz back in the day, but i tried to re-watch it and just dropped it after 10 mins lol.

Yu Yu Hakusho is still great imo. Rewatched it a year ago, still one of my favorites.

I didnt watch to much anime back than though.

This. Totally this.

It's also hard to enjoy Battle For The Planets, the butchered version of Gatchaman.

Anime from back in the '80s and '90s – especially the '80s! – only becomes more enjoyable for me as time passes, but I admit that I love it despite its faults.

There are some that I can't stand anymore, but it's mainly because my interests have changed/matured. Dragon Ball Z would be the first one that comes to mind

Tenchi Muyo is way way way crappier than I remember it. It was the first harem I ever saw and it totally blew my mind when I was like 14. Re-watched it last year and was surprised by how mediocre it actually was.

Pokemon. I religiously followed every ep and re-watched it, still have the movies. : )
Though sadly it just got annoying, I never liked the voice changes or the pointless eps with no motivation or reason.

Yugioh. Again, loved it but it never seemed to go anywhere with the story.

DBZ. Now I don't hate it but looking back at watching all the filler eps, it drove me nuts re-watching it especially with kai being better than funimation's original dub. Heck ocean had filler but at least they cut out the really dull filler eps! I loved garlic junior arc cos it was scary that goku wasn't there to save the day. Yet I can no longer rewatch ocean no matter how much I want to, and I refuse to watch funimation's original.

Sonic X, started off awesome but quickly became such a shame. How I miss sonic satam, proof it wasn't just another cartoon, it actually stood on it's own!
