[]None. The second season was not licensed for streaming or home video. You can buy the Japanese import with no subtitles, that is the only legal option at this point. That is what I am buying.

If I can ask, where are you buying it from? It's not unlikely that an entire season or two from a series that already aired can be added to CR right? Unless maybe Funimation's license of the first season keeps that from happening?

I buy just from CDJapan these days:
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/series_list.html?sid=3381

But you can also get it from amazon.co.jp or hmv.co.jp with direct ordering and mailing to you (no need to use proxy services). amazon has the best discount but I prefer CDJapan for extras and the fact that they let me add to orders and move items from order to order as I like it while amazon only lets you cancel things and lately has gotten touchy about doing lots of cancellations as it messes with their pre-orders but if I could add items to orders I wouldn't have to cancel them in the first place!!! And amazon uses DHL which has given me trouble lately, and HMV only uses EMS shipping. CDJapan has way more shipping options so along with the easy order management I like CDJapan :)

A catalog title is always possible though we are guessing that the music is an issue. Maybe it wasn't even offered for licensing? Perhaps someone from Crunchyroll could let us know if that was true (I believe they confirmed that for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure).

I think I'll look into that. Thank you.

What are my legal options for watching this series english subbed, and outside the USA?

Absolute zero, I think. And, I don't think the Japanese releases contain English subtitles either.

As for the third season announcement: I can't wait for the third season to start!

That's right, there are NO subtitles of any kind on the import discs. Just Japanese dialogue. The way it was intended :)

I too cannot wait for the third season to begin! I am happy to have helped make it happen.

A little frustrating( though makes sense) but in the meantime I'll hold on to a tiny glimmer of hope that if s3 becomes available here, then hopefully so will the other two seasons.

Oh and those covers are glorious.

The interlocking character song CDs are awesome too!

They actually wrap around as Miku connects to Shirabe on the other side.

Just seems too bad that if NA gets a home release we're unlikely to get it in the same format... Though a poster included would be dandy too.

The import releases are expensive but they're beautiful. The Aniplex of America releases are similarly priced and have similar bonuses but you pay for them. The cheap Sentai and Funimation releases are generally one box, a couple of discs and a booklet per cour if you're lucky though they have some premium sets now too.

Seems silly to pay that much mostly for covers but for Sukitte Ii Na Yo, BTOOOM!, Shinsekai Yori, Rozen Maiden, Kokoro Connect having an art box or 2 (or 4 art boxes in the case of Kokoro Connect) and 6-9 separate covers with beautiful artwork it is worth it to me. And all the bonus CDs and stuff. For 6-10x the price is it worth it? To me yes, but not to everyone.

Crunchyroll picking up the third season might not be out of the question; if I'm not mistaken, AKB0048 initially went unlicensed (possibly due to the music) until Crunchyroll licensed the second season for streaming. So the music might not be as big of an issue as it may have been in the past. At least I hope not; I'd really like to watch the third season legally, seeing as I don't have the money to buy DVDs.
