I have the full Genshiken (the "2" seasons) + the OVA's that were shoved in the Kuchibiki Unbalanced Disks. It was cheap to get So it picked up right there then? I'm good to go. Hubby got excited about TWGOK since he saw season 1. I have to see it.. so I have to catch up LOL

About 8 minutes after you posted:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/07/06/crunchyroll-adds-silver-spoon-the-world-god-only-knows-goddesses-and-watamote-anime-to-streaming-lineup

Click through, as 7 titles were announced. The Site News topic should be up soon.

Odd that the Site News for the seven new titles is so delayed...as well as the new title pages.

Are you getting Genshiken Season 1? Looks pretty neat.
hopefully Love Lab is the next reveal.

They'd need seasons 1 and 2 since this is, confusingly, the third season of Genshiken.

The original Genshiken manga ran for nine volumes, the first seven of which were adapted into two seasons of anime. Then after a couple year hiatus, the author returned with a sequel series, Genshiken Nidaime (which would be better translated as "Second Generation" than "Second Season," but that boat's left the dock) which is now getting adapted even though there are two volumes of the original run that remain unanimated.

In any event, Genshiken Nidaime introduces a mostly new cast of characters, so knowledge of what went before isn't totally necessary.

Thanks for the explanation. I was also going to ask about the possibility of streaming season 1, but if it's not necessary, I'll probably start watching this one as it rolls out.

Is this the end? IS this the end?

It happened, isn't it? I know i'm right.

There are so few worldwide licences i think i counted only 2 this season. Maybe i'm wrong, hope so. Every season is worse in that aspect even if there are more for Latin Hamerica and Vikings. I'm really sad and disappointed. Just tell to which adress should i send hate mails? If you don't want to licence in Poland, at least licence in Germany or Czech, then at least i could watch them if i travel hour or so on bus.

Both lineup page and forum is not updated. Again i'm sad there's no proper topic where i can bitch about lack of licence...

It is very likely an effect of most of the CR staff being at AX. I've seen this kind of thing happen before when there is a convention in the midst of simulcast announcements.

The important thing is that they get the video pages up before the simulcast time, along with the first video. Checking through the news article for series that premiere today, I see the page and placeholder for the first video for Devils and Realist and http://www.crunchyroll.com/makai-ouji-devils-and-realist are up, so that part of the equation looks good. The page for Yamishibai isn't up as I compose this, but they still have over 2.5 hours.

I doubt it. CR very frequently has one or more "late arrivals", and there are still two good prospects for being CR simulcasts that don't premiere until the end of next week.

Although it is only a pattern, CR also has had no "Wow, I didn't think they would get that" announcement for this season, either. I can think of two series that there is a possible route for them to get, or three if we included a mid-series pickup of a show from last season.

UPDATE:

It definitely isn't over. The lineup page has been partially updated (3 of 7) with the shows announced yesterday, and would still have one "?" box when they add the remaining shows that were announced.

In past seasons, I've seen them get down to a single box, and then keep adding another one each time an announcement was made, repeating that as many as 3-4 times.

That said, I predicted earlier on that CR would end up with about 25 news simulcasts, and subtracting the J-drama from the current box count, that is exactly how many they have.

If they go over 25, however, I certainly won't be upset.

TheAncientOne (...) or three if we included a mid-series pickup of a show from last season

I'm quite interested in which series you think about when you mention mid-series pickup. It's quite rare...

I checked updated lineup, and i wonder why, not all announced shows were put there, like TWGOK for example. It's now quite a mess and it's hard to look for new announcements and region range between another news. I hope they make proper forum news page soon.

And there is still no info about time of Genshiken release. It already aired.

At least after looking I noticed Makai Ouji is (propably) worldwide since it's available for me. Good, but small cherry in too bitter cake. Now it's 3 new shows for now(well Senyu and Recorder and Randsell make it 5, but these two are 3 minute long )

Really looking forward to more Genshiken, hope it stays as good as the previous seasons.

Was Genshiken 2 already aired/partially aired or something? If so will it be released all at once?

Thus far, only Little Busters! fits that pattern. If it were not for it, I would not even be thinking about this.

Really all I did is think, "What 2 cour or longer series premiered last season that no one simulcast or has licensed since, prefereably one I would like to see?". The answer: Yamato 2199.

During the time I've been in and out of CR today, they've gone from the lineup page only showing 3 of the 7 announced to 6, so they are getting there, albeit slowly.

Genshiken may be one of those shows where CR is late in posting the first episode, due to not closing the contract until too close to the premiere, but will be more timely with subsequent episodes.

From what I gathered from what was reported from the "Present and Future of Anime Streaming in North America Panel" at AX, the normal time gap from receiving the materials to having it ready for simulcast is 4 days. If CR signed the contract any later than that, there is only so much they can do to close the gap. It could also be that the license for the series was agreed to, but not yet the delivery terms.

As confusing as it sounds, Genshiken 2 is not the same series as Genshiken Second Season, which is actually the third Genshiken series.

Apparently Genshiken Nidaime would actually translate as "Genshiken Second" so "Genshiken Second Generation" would be equally fitting but less confusing, but I sometimes think the Japanese chose English titles based on how they sound to them, rather than accuracy or clarity.

(FYI, "Genshiken" is apparently a contraction of "Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyukai", which is why it doesn't get translated in my example above).
