I love having the app on my PS3 and TV, but I guess I don't see who would use this? The Vita has a sub-HD screen unlike pretty much any modern smartphone, requires wifi, and weighs much more. I do like my Vita, but I can't see myself ever picking it as a device to watch Crunchy on.

Vita app would be great!!!

Not sure I'll actually use it since I have a tablet, but a Vita app might come in handy sometimes and would be nice to see.

Also Wii U fanboys shouldn't be surprised there isn't an app yet, that system isn't horrible, but it's certainly going to be a late bloomer and even at that I would think it would only be if there is a decent price drop, and oh... maybe a decent selection of good games to actually play on it.

Finishing my anime backlog is now 3 times easier.

My desktop, my PS3, and now my Vita. Fuck the family computer!

Keep in mind that Crunchyroll's current iOS app only provides up to 480p resolution, and the Android app, only 360p. I don't see why the Vita's 960x544 screen would be a negative given that.

Given that it is a 16:9 screen, I don't see where it really loses out at all to the iPhone 4 & 4S or iPod Touch 4th gen, which have a 960x640 screen that is going to lose those extra vertical pixels to letterboxing for 16:9 video.

As to who would use this, did you bother reading most of the other messages in this topic?

This is really great and all, but wouldn't it have made a little more sense to also hit up the Wii U and 3DS with an app? I mean, this is great as this means another platform for me to watch CR on, being a Vita owner and all, but honestly? The Vita has a really small owner percentage and Vita memory cards are hella pricey, so it becomes a problem storing apps on some of the cheaper memory cards.

For the record, Vita's screen is f***ing beautiful! Most smartphones screens don't make colors pop like the Vita's screen unless it's using a OLED screen like the Lumias. Though it may be just under HD, it can display 720p like a boss still. They were smart with the vita. They made up for the short in screen res. with an OLED screen that can display sharp, bright, vibrant colors and visuals with relative ease making 720p not a necessity. If anything, it will probably look better on your Vita than your smartphone with a higher 720p or 1080p resolution and smaller or equal sized screen... oh, and it won't kill your phone's battery, that's for sure!
