Crunchyroll has been lagging hard for me the past 3 weeks. I have Broadband 50 with Shaw so it should be fine. Youtube is quick as hell.

There are a great deal of factors that could contribute to your issue.

The video FAQ has some simple network tests to run. Other users have had similar problems reported.

Try using google public dns as well, as this has given satisfactory results against ISP dns caching. https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

The GINTAMA episodes are broken.

All the past simulcasts have been working fine for last season and this season but ALL of the Gintama episodes have ridiculous lag on them and this makes me feel sad and alone.

Im hardwired - I work from home and need a reliable internet connection mine is 50 mbps. and my comp is 3.5ghz with 8GB of ram and 2 TB of HD space.
It's not my computer.

This started happening about a 4 days ago.

EDIT: its also happening on my PS3 as well.

btw i have 70/10mbit line and still get lagging,hanging and stuttering video here in europe
crunchyroll realy needs to fix their buffering

happens in Firefox 22 and latest Chrome

my system is a 8 core amd fx-8350, 32gb ram, 256gb ssd, hd 7970 3GB graphics, windows 8 pro x64 with all drivers updated

it is a cr problem, youtube works fine

i realy suspect its way to short buffering and/or overload stream servers,

CR realy needs to give us some stream ips to ping/traceroute to check how far it goes around the globe

I've been having similar problems on my laptop; I thought it was just my old one, but I just got a new one but the problems haven't stopped. When I play videos off the Crunchyroll Android app (which is rare, btw because I always get this message saying that Crunchyroll is "preparing this show for my device") it works just fine.

I've had similar issues for the past year, but it has only recently gotten worse. The video FAQ was 0 help to me (as it was a year ago) and I am using google's public DNS. I'm on a 50mbit connection with a high end system. Normally 4/5 of my videos will just suddenly stop at any point during the video and I am forced to refresh the page to get it loading again. But the past few days it buffers so bad that it is unwatchable. I know it's buffering as if I pause it and let it sit it will play smoothly until it finally catches up again. I often wonder why I'm bothering with a subscription.

I just got the site not loading message in Chrome.
And when I check with downeveryoneorjustme.com, it said it wasn't just me.
It's ok now though.
But I just thought I should mention that I couldn't connect.

You are the second moderator that says for us to do checks updates etc but really we do that and still have problems.We respect the suggestions but its a bigger problem than you think as this link suggests.BJBaker and Starry are more customer friendly from day one since Ive been on CR So take a lead from them.

So in my frustration Ive been using more fan-sub which they gave us an upgraded player which was fine before to an even better one that works flawless.

I went from 720 which worked fine for a long time but now use 480 only.I have enough problems with FUNI so dont become like them.

I was trying to be nice we are just kinda upset that it started a couple of months ago and we got the standard reply which is correct but then becomes redundant.Some of us are FUNI customers so we get carry over issues.I dont whether to laugh ,cry, be upset or bang my head against the wall.Anyway no fight was intended. just customer angst.


Please just a suggestion we dont know if CR is having problems and you could spin it as a positive as more viewers means upgrades and there are occasional glitches on the news or have a site update.I know there are forums but again you have to look.I have lots of fun on CR and dont mean to be a sour grape but once in a while you gotta let go.

yeah I'm having the same problem with Gintama, other shows works fine so I know it's not my TV. Is this a case of over capacity on a particular server?

I'm getting really choppy video as well. The rest of the Internet is fine (Youtube and general surfing is fast), and I have a monster machine (Core i7, 32 GB of RAM, 106 GB free HDD space) so it's not my computer.

The choppiness decreases if I choose lower resolutions like 720p or 480p, but the point of my Crunchyroll subscription was so I could stream 1080p.
