Automatic VS Manual

BoostFedEMII wrote: Tell that to F1 drivers. Do some research before you post next time please. Here Ill even help you out a bit... Look into Ferrari, BMW, Porsche and Nissan's new GTR. Look for SMG and DSG. No human has outshifted a F1 sequential gearbox or even many street machines equipped with these boxes. And no, Im not referring to a "tiptronic" auto. already did!! would u race your friends manual if you have a automatic honda vs honda manual > automatic |

Now where in that quote did you pull out Honda from? Because I sure cant see it. Im just responded to your "Racers = manual" statement, which I am correct about. Not once did I mention myself nor my friends racing cars, and neither did you.
Dare I say... pwnt? |

Im just correcting your error in saying all racers have to have manual transmissions. |

Racers = manual, mostly
automatic = racers too, not alot people prefer manual over automatic I didnt mention any F1 drivers Edit: auto can be racers too but more people prefer manual |

Manual Cuz I'm Drifting =P and its hard to drift with a AT only handbrake if you tryed to drift with an AT but MT is mostly for racing and drifting. AT for Regular stuff.

I can drive both but it's a bit$h when your hitting switches. I don't like having to worry about shifting when I hit switches. |

Civics and neons ftw! Lol, I'm not a fan of auto, but it's taking the racing scene slowly. Look at the Evolution X and its TC-SST. It SHIFTS faster and BETTER than any driver beside the 2% pros. As I mentioned earlier, Mercedes, BMW, Ferrari, Lambos, and any luxury brand vehicle come in automatic. Bugatti > All. |

Gearbox and miscellaneous
The McLaren F1 has a transverse 6-speed manual gearbox with an AP carbon triple-plate clutch contained in an aluminium housing, both the standard edition and the 'Mclaren F1 LM' has the following gear ratios: 3.23:1, 2.19:1, 1.71:1, 1.39:1, 1.16:1, 0.93:1, with a final drive of 2.37:1. The LSD (Limited Slip Differential) has a 40% lock. The McLaren F1 has no flywheel in order to decrease inertia and increase responsiveness of the system, resulting in faster gear changes and better throttle feedback. |

We're talking about F1 Racing not the McLaren F1... The majority of modern Formula One cars use seven-speed semi-automatic gearboxes. http://www.formula1.com/ |
