ermm the transmission doesn't affect the control of your car, thats the suspension and drivetrain.

The transmission does control the torque output to the drivetrain via driver demand.

REAL Drivers drive Manual... BECUZ automatic only gets half the experience, plus manual has tricks such as drifting/burnout/etc... and overall more torque and hp. people who buy sports cars that are automatic are failures... also not everybody can drive manual, including most of the people here voting for manual but has not comment other then it's faster... btw this is a vs. thread -.-'

well actually, you can do burnouts in automatic tranmission vehicle by pushing foot on gas and brake pedals if you have enough torque.

Ok ok, that is true if you wanna mess up your brakes... but however there is NOTHING better than letting off your clutch at redline...

Whether it be a torque converter in an automatic transmission.
Clutch linkage in a manual...
or the output shaft.
the power from the engine still has to get through the transmission to be applied to the drive axles of the car.
I'm just trying to say that the transmission is as much part of the drive train as the engine, drive axles, etc.
In theory, you do get a little more control with a manual, like say in winter driving.
Rather than shifting it to first gear and taking off from a complete stop and risk wheel spin.
One can easily shift towards second and take advantage of the smaller gear ratio and the lesser torque output to the wheels.

Aha yeah, I don't know the site, I'm just using my girlfriend's crunchy roll account.

well I never said it was effecient lol.. but yeah I remember seeing a USDM vs JDM on youtube and the guys engine caught fire. it was pretty pathetic but funny. Anyways, stupid kids will do anything nowadays for entertainment and I wouldn't put it past those rich suburban kids who get a free $40,000+ new vehicle and abuse it cause they don't know automechanics.
