depends on what kind of driving you want to do, and what kind of car your parents allow you to drive.
me= manual for now , but sometime down the line i probably might want an auto for convenience.

for the past 8 years i drive a manual transmission,, up to now.. traffic here in the philippines is worst, nid an automatic.. for easier drive, but i dont want to dispose my MT car..

Manual. I have more control of the car when it's a manual. The only reason I'll ever get an automatic is because my girlfriend needs to use my car once in a while... it's tough when you use the car on long drives and you can't switch 'cause you're the only one who knows how to drive the damned car! |

I've owned one automatic in my life.
It was the last auto I ever owned, and ever will own.
I learned in a manual, had one for my first car, and have had five more manual cars since that awful automatic.
