Which do you prefer Automatic or Manual?

i prefer manual...(my 350 is manual.)...but the automatic is a need if you live in a place with a lot of traffic...

Manual transmission preferred. It's easier to drive.
When it comes to any kind of road condition or offroad beyond the normal, auto trans is a huge liability. |

wtf?! never knew there was a car section on CR lol.
Although I drive an automatic (03 Tiburon,) Manual has a little more to offer than the Automatic's convenience. but then again, drunk driving in a manual can get tiresome.. when you can just fall asleep driving in an automatic.. Automatics + Drunk Driving! yay! lol jking... |

Depends on the application.
Automatic is shifts faster. Now you could just speed shift in your manual. but you will ruin the synch gears. Really depends on what you are doing with your car. Manual has no more to offer than, automatic does. Other than that, makes no difference. Don't forget manumatics though. |

Don't forget manumatics though. good replay i have to agree. ppl are saying things such as shifting at 5500 prms, shift whenever you want in turbo cars shifting higher spools the tubo and sends you into boost. or somewhere at 2500 saves more gas, plus the automatics you can have tiptronic like having a manual with no clutch. i have a is300 with tiptronic and a eshift, but i also have a mk3 supra, i pick manual because i like to do burnouts...dont say oh you cant drift in a auto because i have seen a aristo drift and its automatic. 2JZftw |

It's no different the turbo vs supercharger. Just depends what you are doing.
if you are just driving. Either is fine, manual doesn't take 'skill' just practice. One is not safer then the other. All about the driver. |

I have one of each. My driver is an auto and my toy a manual. For every day I'd prefer the auto. I had to drive they toy daily for a couple of weeks to break in the clutch and I was kinda tired of rowing gears by the time it was all said and done.....

100% manual. It's a feeling of becoming 'one' with the car.
