Driving a manual for years and borrowing my moms auto Civic I forgot there was no clutch and ended up tapping the brake pedal a little too hard lol.

Raising kids didn't seems to stop my grandmother or my mother from driving stick. Every vehicle in my family, with the exception of my grandmother's last car has been manual and my grandma only drove an auto in her last years because, and I quote; "I've been alive for over 80 years, survived two world wars and the great depression and after all that I raised three kids. I learned to drive in a Model "T" farm truck. I've earned the right to be lazy" - Grandma. Myself personally I'm going to continue the family tradition of only driving manuals.

cgraves10 5030 cr points Send Message: Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 7/20/12 Manual without a doubt... why? -FASTER than the at variants with the same engines -More contol over the vehicle in extreme weather/racing -Much more durable (if you know how to shift properly) -Better gas milage -Less expensive to buy/repair there's only two reasons i can think of why an at would be better: -If you're too lazy to drive it/learn it -If you're trying to get some he@d the shifter can be troublesome lol

It keeps me more engaged and in control while driving, and I feel good thinking that I am exercising a skill whenever I drive. Many people in the USA do not know how to drive a manual at all, but I do. It is a small, even trivial thing, but it is still nice to me.

crash1187 17035 cr points Send Message: 23 / M / Arizona Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 9/4/12 for lazy or when u have a lot of stop and go traffic, auto, for fun driving and when you wanna make your car do what you want a lot easier, manual.. i have an automatic now (didnt have a choice parrents bought it for me), but when i get a new car next summer its gonna be a stick, and im about 90% sure its gonna be a genesis coupe 3.8 track..
