Hey!

Im a 18 year old boy from Denmark, which for a long time have had a big interrest in anime, and a bit manga!
So one day i was thinking about the idea of trying going to bigger social events, and then i thought that i might enjoy going to a anime/manga related convention.

Since i live in Denmark which are a small country compared to many others, then i thought that my best shot is to try and some conventions in Europe. But as of right now i really dont have any idea of how i should do about this thing, and where i should choose to go
I was thinking about going to a big convention, since i think i would be able to get a better experience at a place with a wieghter range of people

So what i wanted some help with is, if you guys know any bigger conventions arround Europe which are worth going to? And if you maybe have some advice on how to go to a convention, if i should go solo or with a friend or two?

(I would also really enjoy if it would be a convention with cosplay and all that sought of col stuff )

Well i think thats about it for now

So, Peace out!

There are some conventions in London, which is relatively easily accessible from Denmark, is it not?

Well i think its pretty cheap most of the time to get a 1way ticket to London, so that would be an option i think So the ones in London can be recommended?

Denmark has its own conventions too by the way.

J-Popcon: http://www.j-popcon.dk/da/ <- I'll have to ask one of my friends who organizes this one when the next will be, I believe he said March 2014 last time I spoke to him.
Genki: http://genki.dk/ <-August 30th to September 1st 2013

You may want to try a local brew first, to see if anime conventions are your thing.

If you are interested in other cons abroad, I can make a list of other European conventions, and what kind of conventions they are as well.
Because there's a huge diversity in that too.

Thanks a lot for all the helpful information! Very much appreciated!

As you say i would proberbly a good idea to try the hole concept here in Denmark first, and then if i like it then i could go to some bigger events in other countries like England(London) :)

But yea, ill check out the websites you gave me links to

So if im going to London i should also be prepared to save up some ekstra money for hotel and so on?

Well it depends what you are going to do and how far you are willing to travel within London.

An average weekend in London easily sets me back a good €500 (3730DKR), but then again I always sleep in hotels.
Aside from that a weekend in London always involves a visit at several of the many book stores London has and of course The Forbidden Planet.

Considering you want to visit a convention or expo there, yeah, count on needing that kind of money.
