I believe that anime is not simply animations made in Japan, but a animation style created in Japan. Therefore, I think that as long as it maintains that style, it does not need to be in Japan for it to be classified as anime. That's like saying that if people from Jamaica move to Canada, they are no longer considered Jamaican, but are Canadian. That isn't true because as long as they maintain their culture and roots, they will always stay Jamaican (Used personal experiences, teehee) But yeah, that's my view of it.

agreed. also i think manhwa and manga style is also basically kind of same

*highfives fellow Jamaican*

When ever I see anything from the French studio Marathon I can see its clearly anime inspired, I stop short of calling anything they do an anime but when I think of anime style they are always the first I think of. It's animation all the same. It's funny CG never runs into this problem. Makes no difference who makes it.
