Ep.4 at 10:04 they said that O.D. spreads his wings "all will be destroyed".

They said all will be destroyed so im anxious to see just how powerful he is. But I'm thinking maybe their also hinting to his true nature. Since I seriously think he is from the same planet as the tran his powers might be dark as well. He's on the good side but he probably has a dark side which may over power him and destroy everything.

There's a shot of O.D. in the opening that makes him look really... villainous. IDK why but something about it tells me he's got a dark side or will do some betraying.

This episode wasn't as good as the past couple, although the escape was really entertaining. We've finally got some conflict between Rui and the Gatchaman group, which will definitely be interesting.

Jou is death flagging so much it's not even funny. What makes him think he'll be able to kill a world-destroying alien with a gun anyway?

Yeah this episode wasn't as great as the rest but theres always that boring necessary episode(s) used to build up to a climax. Oh and I agree about that too. He's just too full of himself.

oh...?

you guys are talking about this:

I didn't find this episode boring in the LEAST. to each their own though. this was still on par w/every episode, if not better and better w/each one. I loved Hajime's humming and singing all through out this episode.

to all those who thought and still do think Hajime is a complete ditz, you might actually be the one who's clueless:

none-the-less, Hajime never ceases to impress me. ever have those moments in anime where you expect the hero or heroine to say or do what you are thinking or saying in your head??? HA! Hajime saw right through Rui Ninomiya. like WOW! perfect! IMO. she called him out in so many ways. especially when she questioned him about the CROWDS. BOOSH! in your face, Rui.

...Hajime w/a lil blood on her face was kinda sexy >.>

ANYWAYS!

how cute and adorable, lovable was the chase scene w/Hajime and Utsu-tsu(which I believe is a play on words if anyone can confirm, but doesn't it mean gloomy?) I got a real good laugh when I saw how many bows were in Utsu-tsu hair and Hajime's old skirt was no longer in existence:

MAN! I love this show!

I hadn't noticed the proliferating bows, now I have to watch it again ><

And did, well most of it, they move fast in cutting up that skirt!

I think this has actually been the best episode so far. Hajime makes it really really interesting... I'm left thinking that she's actually the 'level up' of the world, rather than Galax (and that's even ignoring every single hint that Galax is actually going to be a massive amount of trouble.

Also, about those masks... In the old show, people that joined up with Galactor had no coming back and always came to an apocalyptic end if they in any way broke ranks. Seeing the masks actually worn made some creepy resonance for me.

It' becoming clear to me that the reason she was chosen was to break their perception of things. In one fight she stopped the problem with the cube things, and not she has force the one who does galax to think

I think this as well, although I think we're due soon for a Hajime "beat-up" scene where she's going to be brought within 1-2 inches of her own life that will change her perception on things.

I kind of don't think so, the way I read the nature of the confict in the show, even if she does get beat on, her POV won't change much. I firmly believe that's the whole point.

PS: How much do I love this show? Compl3te put it pretty well.

5 minutes of self-serving anime villain bullcrap, and Hajime just laughs her off, 'nope you're full of crap'.

What makes it great of course is that she's still positive about it. Like Ken (I don't think that's his actual name, but it's all I can think of :p) gets annoyed/defensive and wants to argue but she doesn't need to.

Just wonderful ><

~~~
Edit: Also, looking back I think Hajime was actually testing Rui a little bit there at the end, asking about Crowds. I mean yeah she was pointing out the hypocrisy some, but also I think she wanted to see if Riu would be straight with her... a test failed.
I'm not saying she'll be a changed person...but nobody is perfect, and despite the positive aspects of her mannerisms, it's typical anime fashion that her boon will end up being her bane at least once.
It will make Hajime a stronger character overall, in my opinion, for her to get her ass kicked.
Yeah I can see that, in fact a version of that is my biggest worry for the series. I really hope they don't go 'Christ figure' with her, and have her noble sacrifice make everybody freak out as the crisis point.
I mean it would work dramatically, but I still wouldn't like it ><
Edit: To go further I like how it's almost so much against the normal tropes that it reads as deconstruction.
Hajime should be the side/comic relief/romance character, or she should have to learn either how to be a hardass or the importance of fighting... that would be the normal path. Crowds inverts that. The dramatic samurai-sword hero is the straight-man who has maybe the most to learn.
And that's great. I want it to continue to break anime dramatic conventions up to the end.
It's a concern I suppose.
I just feel with certainty she won't go every single episode of this series lackadaisically confronting every single enemy with her bozo attitude without taking a scratch.
If that happens I will massively impressed, though. I just don't see the main enemy guy (the creepy devil-ish person who clones people) goin' that easy on her.
hah was just editing it :D
I think we're on the same side on this. She's gonna take some hits, and they're gonna be some ugly hits. But my hope is that they just reinforce her strength of character and the underlying message of understanding (while still leaving her room for a happy ending, I'm selfish that way :D).
I hope so too, she does need a little more reality but overall I think the team needs to see what she does or they won't be able to stop the alien
yeah! good point. Hajime was totally testing Rui and he failed.
to jump on the idea that she's going to get beat up real bad... maybe they'll go w/the heroic, life-threatening, last resort effort to stop one of their OWN Gatchaman!? maybe once Hajime learns more about the Gatchaman then that could change her character some. who knows!? it's fun guessing until we see in the following weeks!!
