Hey everyone, hope you've all enjoyed the excitement that was Anime Expo! We've got another title coming your way this summer with the announcement of Gatchaman Crowds launching on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:30am Pacific Time in the following territories: U.S.A, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, France, the Caribbean, South and Central America.

‘Gatchaman’ is the general term for warriors who wear special power suits called NOTE, which are manifestations of special spiritual powers possessed by living beings. The Gatchaman force on Earth consists of aliens who have been dispatched by a council and Earthlings who have been scouted for their latent abilities, all of whom work together to protect Earth's people and resources from alien criminals who have invaded the planet in violation of the probation enforced by the council. Most recently, their main duty is dealing with MESS, a mysterious entity about which even the council has little knowledge.”

Good get. Added it to my queue. Would love to see the original anime on here too

It's gonna be interesting to see how I can keep up with 11 full-length anime and a short this season. Oh well, a good problem to have.

Character designs done by the same person who did Tsuritama, no wonder I got that vibe when I saw the show poster.

I'll give this a watch to see if its good though I usually do enjoy superpower shows.

I hope this isn't the last simulcast CR announces, I still want Kimi no Iru Machi

Excellent! Now CR just needs to get Kimi no Iru Machi, Dangan Ronpa, and maybe Blood Lad and I'm set for the season.

If this is the last simulcast, that makes it 20/26 shows available for Scandinavia - quite impressive, and a lot more than I expected going in (this is my first season as a subscriber). Thanks, Crunchyroll, I will definitely be sticking around.

Unfortunately Dangan Ronpa is Funimation, so it won't be here, and Blood Lad is Viz, so it won't be here either.

Nice pick up, this is definitely a must-watch for me. I have yet to see a legit preview video though but the OP song is brilliant.

Funimation already got Dangan Ronpa and Viz is streaming Blood Lad.

Have Kimi no Iru Machi, DXD, Tamayura or Ro Kyu Bu been license for streaming at all?

Seems to be a lot of missing things season.

None of those are streaming. Kimi no Iru Machi doesn't start for another 4 days, but as CR didn't add another "?" box to the simulcast page, it doesn't look hopeful at this point.

DxD New is almost certain to be Funimation, they simply haven't announced it yet. Their home video release of the first series is due out soon, so a simulcast of the second series is good timing. They have yet to start either of the two simulcasts they did announce, either.

It is questionable whether Rou Kyuu Bu! SS will be legally available. The first series was a TAN exclusive simulcast, but Sentai was asked to sell back the home video rights (but was able to keep the streaming rights). Since TAN seems to be out of the simulcast game, if Sentai got it, it would most likely be on CR. The problem is, they may not be interested in only streaming rights, or Warner may even not be offering up the streaming rights for the series.

That'd be 76% ... 70%-80% has been normal for Scandinavia, though a couple of year's ago there was a very bad Summer season with only 40%..

While there are no [?] simulcast boxes at this time ... there are two [?] catalog title boxes ...

Ah, that's good to know - since I can only see the shows that are available to me and most catalog stuff is blocked, I was assuming that we didn't get very much simulcasting either. (As said, I only started using CR halfway through this spring season) Chalk it up to a defeatist attitude after meeting a little too many 'sorry, the video is blocked in your region' messages all over the internet - I started subscribing pretty much because it's the only way to support the industry at all from here, so I'm happy that I'm actually getting value for money as well.

Yes, Scandinavia almost never gets a series that is launched as a catalog title, unless it was some "direct to the internet" anime. The only exceptions I can remember are catalog titles that were package deals with a simulcast of a sequel.

That means that almost all of the catalog stuff that you are seeing for Scandinavia are series that were once simulcasts.

But those old simulcast titles actually under-represent what Scandinavia has been getting as simulcasts, since when a home video distributor licenses a title anywhere in the Crunchyroll streaming territory, that normally means that the license at Crunchyroll expires.
