What would there be for Crunchyroll to regret?

If Crunchyroll had a policy of only going for some things, then maybe they could regret not going for Love Lab. But we know that Crunchyroll goes for everything, so we know that they went for Love Lab. They didn't get the license, but that was the decision of the licensor ... it wasn't Crunchyroll's fault.

If a series gets skipped for a second time, it could be any of the following:

1. The party responsible for handling international licensing is averse to streaming. (Clearly this isn't the case in Japan, as I see it lised on NicoNico.jp's summer lineup page, but the party that handles domestic licensing isn't always the same that handles it internationally).

2. Licensing was available for simulcast, but the terms demanded were unacceptable.

3. A deal was already in the works to license the title to another company, possibly for home video.

Oh ok didn't know that. Well shucks that's too bad then that the licensor didn't let them.

And 4. A deal is currently being negotiated, but there is a sticking point in the negotiations that they have to sort out before the contract can be signed. For instance, since the first seems to be unlicensed (per ANN Encyclopedia), there might be a wrinkle to sort out to be able to get the first and second in a package deal.

Although Attack on Titan was announced by Funimation first, it is unclear if they actually licensed it first. AoT wasn't the first series that both CR and Funimation have simulcast, but in the past it was rather clear CR nabbed it first.

The titles Funimation has now aren't as "big" as AoT, and except for DxD New, had been announced some time ago with nothing from CR.

In short, if you keep waiting for CR to get every show Funimation gets that you want, you'll be in for a lot of disappointment.

But the streaming schedules for the two have not moved in sync, and the two are subtitling it independently, so it appears to be parallel non-exclusive streaming licenses, rather than Crunchyroll sublicensing it from Funimation.

If there were parallel licenses for these other series, that would have been finalized at around the same time as Funimation finalized their license ... but there aren't any more [?] boxes up in simulcasts for this season, so any simulcasts that might be coming will be series that are still being negotiated, whether direct from Japan or from a primary licensee.

I just watched the first episode, & I love it! My daughter & I used to watch Poyopoyo together, but that was a while ago. We tried a few other shows, but none of them took. She is only 10 yrs old... not just any anime can bridge that gap & get us jazzed up about it. I think Gatchaman has what it takes! I was able to get her to watch at least the first 10 minutes of the first episode before she had to get to karate class, & I believe we have found our new show!

It looks really good and the animation style reminds me of Ao no Exorcist.

I was confused at first, thinking that Gatchaman Crowds had nothing to do with the legendary Science Ninja Team Gatchaman anime from the 70's. A quick check on Wikipedia tells me that Gatchaman Crowds is in fact the latest entry in that venerable series, so count me excited! I was disappointed with one of the more recent reboots of a Tatsunoko classic, the overwrought and ridiculously grim-dark Casshern Sins, but I'm going to approach Gatchaman Crowds with cautious optimism.
