Did your parents grew up with anime or kaiju films as kids and still watch it?

Example:
My mother grew up with Fist of the North Star, Voltron, Robotech and Gamera somewhere in Los Angeles. She doesn't really enjoy the anime shows that are present now, but with Gundam Seed or anything that contains serious drama she'll watch it with her te
a.
With Gamera and a bit of Ultraman she'll sit through it or read a book at the kitchen table listening to the TV.

My parents were never introduced to that stuff, I think I'm the only one (youngest out of 5 children) to have started looking into anime.

Not that I'm aware of!

NO. My mom grew up on a rural dairy farm in Martinsburg, PA. Television was a treat during her childhood, and anime never showed on the few channels that she had access to. Not that it would make a difference if it did. She and the rest of her siblings spent most of their time working on the farm.

As for my father... Probably not. His hometown is Hamburg, New York. He had more extras than my mom, but I hardly think that anime was ever his thing.

My stepdad had even less than my mom, so he certainly didn't watch anime, too.

Nope!
I grew up in North Dakota, there was no anime there . . . until after 1980. My folks grew up there during the Great Depression, there was no TV.

Not really. All they did was watch Pokemon with me and my older brother when we were young, but that is it.
