The Big 3
Posted 7/11/13 , edited 7/11/13
Why do you think the big three aren't the big three any more in Japan(except for one piece since its # 1).

Which one do you prefer Naruto, One Piece or Bleach and why?

Since I haven't seen One Piece yet, I'll only rate naruto and bleach.

For me it's like this:

1) Naruto Shippuden
2) Bleach before the Aizen went to Hueco Mundo
3) Naruto
4) rest of Bleach

They were in the right place at the right time.

I only have experience with the original Naruto, I would watch the others, but I'd rather not get sucked into something with hundreds of episodes when I have other things to watch.

Edit: I guess ninja's are just old news in Japan, but still a fairly new thing in the West, but their clearly running their course in the West anyway at this point.

I enjoyed Bleach the most, because swords are epic.

One Piece and Naruto are still big in Japan though. Kings.
And who cares about Bleach other than its few remaining loyal fans?

They aren't?
I thought the big 3 was just a term they used for One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, becaus those are the ones that has sold them most, best ratings etc.
What are the big 3s now then?

Its a shame how everyone is writing Bleach off!!! Its my favourite out of the Big 3 and it is probably going through the best arc its ever had so its a pity to see it falling down in popularity and sales! However all good things must unfortunately come to an end. I guess they are not as popular any more as people want change and animes like Fairy Tail and Toriko are beginning to become a lot more popular and are stealing the lime light.

But anyway I rate them in this order
1) Bleach
2) One Piece
3) Naruto

I don't like either of the big three, so hearing this makes me glad that their popularity is finally dying off. I hope something that is actually worthwhile takes their place.

Where did you hear that?
One Piece still owns Japan and that's never gonna change until it ends.

I'm just going off what the OP said, but it would be nice if One Piece started dying off too so there won't be so many annoying advertisements for it.

OP and Naruto are still Insainly popular. Bleach is still popular if you look at volume sales but not near the other two. Toriko will save manga and everyone will like it.

I really did like bleach in the beginning, but then it became a filler fest for the filler happy and i lost interest in the anime, though i still read the manga.

One piece has got to still be my number one favorite, though i do love Naruto too since thats the first anime i was introduced to.
So i guess... One piece, naruto and Gintama (i know gintama isnt in the big three, it is for me though) for me ^^"

I like ALL three of them. Sue me

I like One Piece because it has that awesome adventure theme like older Shonen Jump series. Always traveling, never staying in one place. The Devil Fruit is a awesome concept and I love the powers you get from eating them. The characters are enjoyable to watch at all times. When they are serious and goofy

I like Bleach because Ichigo is a GOAT. I believe Tite Kubo has the best character designs out of the three artists. Especially when the characters are in casual clothes. The first arc,the hollow extermination days was awesome. It was exciting to see those giant black monsters that were once people now eat them and seeing Ichigo come kill them off while meeting new characters. Zanpoktos are awesome swords and seeing all their different abilities is also awesome to watch. The introduction of espada and arrancar boosted up the series even more. And how Aizen was basically the main antagonist for the series had a DBZ feel. Like how Frieza was the main antagonist before he was killed

Naruto has ninjas. Ninjas who wear bright ass clothing but ninjas none the less. The reason Naruto not Shippuden was very appealing because Mashashi Kishimoto copied the shit out of Yoshihiro Togashi's HunterxHunter. Shippuden is all over the place but Naruto was cool because the reason I just listed.

After Bleach finishes my big three would be

1)One Piece
2)Toriko
3)Gintama

(I WOULD have HunterxHunter instead of Toriko but Togashi does not follow a weekly schedule at all so. :/ )

NOTE:I am speaking of the manga for all three of them and NOT the anime

There are only 2 long running shounen series that didn't bore me or go down hill at some point. Those are Yu Yu Hakusho and Hajime no Ippo. One Piece would be up there, but the Skypia Arc was pretty meh. I haven't seen Hunter X Hunter, but will eventually. Not sure if Gintama counts here either, but I do like it quite a bit.

One Piece is the best of the big three.
The original Naruto was fine before 100ish episodes of filler struck. I've only seen 32 of Shippuden which I like a bit more.
Only seen 4 episodes of Bleach, I'll eventually watch through the Soul Society Arc since that's apparently the best part of it.

They're all massively over rated, and I don't really care much for them, nor their very loud and obnoxious fanboys/girls that swear these are the best shows to grace the planet and attack everyone who disagrees.
