Season is amazing. I have more simulcasts I'm watching than last season, and last season was amazing.

I think I have a slight feeling like that most seasons when we're 3 weeks in. It takes a bit of time to get into the story or characters, and rarely can you tell how strong or weak a season is until the near-end. That said, most of the ones I'm into right now are continuing shows, with only a couple new ones that I have really big hopes for. We'll see how things go.

Sunday Without God already made this season amazing for me.
And multiple magical girl anime this season is more icing on the cake.
I have 24 new shows this season alone (a combo of full length and short anime)

I personally think it's a slow season. Watched most of the 1st ep's of each new simulcast and found that the only ones that peaked my interest were, "Watamote, Sunday Without God and Dog & Scissors." Last season was jam packed with action so summer does feel like a let down. I don't understand how some of you keep watching through all the way even after you realize the show is mediocre after 3 weeks. And please do not call Gatchaman Crowds action, smh. Anyways i'm sure i'll get ripped a new one... Attack!

Not really sure what the "Only Action" crowd is so upset about. I count 12 fight shows on the summer bill. I'm guessing they aren't happy because the whole season isn't one genre?

I'm still watching 25 (26 if you include Oreimo2) shows. For this early in a season this is low for me and it includes 4 continuing shows (MJP, AoT/SnK, RailgunS, Oreimo2, Mushibugyo). A few are still on the edge so I will likely be down to my usual 20 or so shows per season of simulcasts.

There are a number of real gems this season IMO. Monogatari SS I knew I would love but Rozen Maiden seems really good, Watamote is awesome, Il Sole/Daybreak Illusion seems really intriguing, Sunday Without God could go either way but so far is really good, C3 is quite good, for a Youtube show Turning Girls is so funny!!!, Kiniro Mozaic first episode was fantastic, so cute and funny, second episode still really good but not quite as unique as the first, ServantxService is really funny, Recorder&Randsell is super funny again, Tekyuu 2 is HILARIOUS, Dog & Scissors is so funny though I'm unsure if it will remain a top favorite, High School DxD is oppaitastic, The World God Only Knows 3 is really good, Uchouten Kazoku seems really interesting though I am not 100% sure it will be great. Fantasista Dolls I liked the first episode but episode 2 I'm not sure if it will be great or just a card/doll fighting show. Going Home Club isn't as funny as I'd hoped.

For action it is mostly in returning shows MJP mecha action, AoT/SnK giant fighting action, RailgunS and Muchibugyo lots of action. In new shows I'm watching Rozen Maiden has doll fights though not every show, it is more suspense. Monogatari has lots of dialog and fanservice but you know there will be fights at the end of every arc. Daybreak Illusion has magical fights. Sunday Without God has lots of shootouts. C3 has airsoft shootouts. Dog & Scissors has fights surprisingly though it is not really an action show. Fatasista Dolls has doll fights. Seems to me like a fair bit of action.

I don't like it but Gifu Doudou must have some action...

Lots of very average, archetypical slice of life stuff loaded with yaoi and yuri fan service. Banal. Nothing comparing to the brilliance of Nichijou this time around.

Only Watamote and Monogatari have earned a place on my queue and excellent though they are, I'm quite underwhelmed by this season as a whole.

Edit: Oh and Teekyu as well, if you can count 2 minutes of caffeine infused insanity per week as a series.

This is my opinion as well, although I am extremely picky when it comes to watching anime, as usually I just watch it if I know the series that the anime is based on, or it is recommended to me.

It seems like most of the summer's anime is slice of life, school or comedy.
To me, it just seems like a sucky season.
Except for Free xD
Next season will be the best season this year. KnB s2.
BUT, I feel like this becaus I don't feel like watching any anime these days. Except for Free.

Not blaming CR of course, blaming the anime creators.

I can't tell if the reason I haven't been watching anything is because I haven't enjoyed it or i'm just lazy. Maybe a bit of both.

There are several shows I am watching this season, a few that I am not bothering with, and others that I might pick up eventually...

For continuing shows, I only really have Majestic Prince on my radar. (My son keeps trying to get me to watch Attack on Titan but I never seem to get around to it.)

As for new shows, here are my rankings so far:
Tier 1:
1. Stella Womens Academy, High School Division Class C³ or C³-bu - This is a big surprise as it wasn't even on my radar in terms of pre-season choices. It is cute, heartfelt, and could be one of the better coming of age shows around if they keep up the good work. I am blogging this one, but haven't posted my first one yet.
2. Tamayura ~More Aggressive~ - I love Tamayura! It is great! I'm blogging this one this season.
3. Kimi no Iru Machi (A Town Where You Live) - So far, this is fine, but it could go either way in terms of the quality of the anime. The story is top rate and I will enjoy the anime even if it makes me rage at how it doesn't measure up to the manga... I'm also blogging this one.
4. The Eccentric Family - With gorgeous background art by PA Works, a charming slice of bizarre life story, and traditional Japanese fantasy characters placed in a modern setting, this could be the best of the season easily.
5. Dog & Scissors - An absurd premise, outrageous characters, and an instant chemistry between the leading man... or should I say dog... and the tsundere, scissors wielding leading lady make this a show to watch out for...
6. WATAMOTE (~No Matter How I Look at It, Its You Guys Fault Im Not Popular~) - This show about a painfully shy otaku girl that can't seem to get her shining high school life to even glimmer, let alone shine is painfully funny. It has some real heart and wickedly nasty humor. Loving it!
7. Blood Lad - This one has potential to be the best. It is funny and outrageous, good stuff.
8. KINMOZA! (Kin Iro Mosaic) - This cute-girls-doing-cute-things moe fest has heart and some really good characters. So far it is better than I expected.
9. The World God Only Knows: Goddesses - If the intensity that started at the end of episode 1 keeps up, this entire franchise could rise in the ranks, and not just for this season... BTW, if you haven't watched the OVAs for TWGOK, do so, they will help you get to know Tenri and understand where we are better...

Tier 2:
10. Servant X Service - A slice of life office comedy that I am really enjoying so far. It is almost in the next tier thanks to the great main female character. It may move there if it keeps the stories away from the typical and treats her with respect.
11. il sole penetra le illusioni ~ Day Break Illusion - This Madoka wannabe is dark and edgy and better than I expected so far. I'll keep watching...
12. Chronicles of the 'Going Home' Club - This 4-Koma based anime has some of the funniest moments of the season so far, but has its share of flubs too... I'll keep watching!
13. Silver Spoon - This show has great potential, but so far it is just a slice of life school story about a kid that is going to a rural agricultural school for the wrong reasons (to get away from home, not because he wants to learn about the topics they teach.)
14. Sunday without God - The first episode was OK and the second a little better. The 12 year-old loli leading lady could be a problem if it gets... icky.. and, so far, she is the only likable character, and just barely. It has an interesting, post-apocalypse/dystopian future setting so I'll keep at it...

There are a few more that I might watch, like Free, Rozen Maiden Zurückspulen, Love Lab, and Fantasista Doll, but for now, that's the list and roughly my ranking of them...

The new season does seem a little lackluster, aside from the continuing shows.

I like The Eccentric Family and Servant x Service alright. Nothing's been amazing for me so far, though.

^ Agreed.

I'm watching 9 new shows this season, they're all pretty good. It takes at least three episodes or more for me to really get into a show and it's characters. I'll wait until this season ends before I give my opinion about it.
