I know what your thinking. I must be smoking something good to bring up such a topic . I found out the past week how this has actually effected me.

Here is a simple example. I normally workout on the treadmill for 50 minutes a day but I've started to watch anime through this great site via the Crunchyroll app on my cell. Normally I can only keep myself motivated for so long with the Pandora aka music app but I've grown very tired with the repeated songs despite trying different genre's. After deciding to give Crunchyroll a try since I have the 30 day trial which I'm going to continue because I'm loving it so much so far. I've noticed that I have increased my workouts on the treadmill to 75 minutes and it's not because I don't want to skip out on a part of a episode but I feel more energetic and motivated. Just recently today I decided to re watch the Naruto episode "Planetary Devastation" And I actually turned the MPH on the treadmill up from 6.5 to 7.5 to keep up with the fight sequence,

I'm curious if this has happened with anyone else and would love to hear stories similar to this. I've checked the scales today. 2lbs lighter from last Thursday!

Well I like to work out a lot during the week, and watching anime will never distract or really influence me to do so, but some of them sure as hell motivate me more^^

Like fairy tail or naruto or any of those fighting anime. I wouldnt say any of them inspire me to workout but they definitely make me want to workout much harder x3

As long as you have a distraction from the fact that you're on a treadmill, things suddenly become golden!

I agree with the motivation increase. After I finished watching my first--and still favorite--anime, Cardcaptor Sakura, I decided, after school one day, that I would just...go take a walk. There's a park in the town where I used to live that was scarcely used, and I decided to take a walk there. I skipped a day and decided to take another walk...and then I ended up taking a walk there every day for 606 days straight. It was like...I had my mind set on taking a walk every single day. And note, this is Northwest Ohio we're talking here. I walked on clear days, overcast days, through rain, through snow, through a windstorm and a couple of thunderstorms. I was even blindsided by hail once! I had tons of motivation, I was healthy, I was really happy, I was losing weight...life was pretty great!

...But then I went to college, and *POOF!* No more motivation to do anything. =/

Action anime (specifically battle scenes) always give me an adrenaline rush. I usually like to workout or go running to vent off some of my extra energy lol, so I understand what you are saying.

Watching action and fight sequences has always pumped me up and put me in the mood for physical exercise, so I understand the correlation. Just thinking of those kinds of scenes help motivate and keep myself going during many kinds of physical activity, such as shoveling snow and hiking.

That's a great idea... Working out is so boring. All I do is increase the amount of sit ups and jumping jacks I do a day, and take brief walks because I absolutely hate running on my treadmill. But now it'll just be a leisurely stroll as I'm watching my favorite anime! Hope I don't end up dropping my phone. I'm extremely clumsy.

Whenever I watch action scenes I get really excited and start doing jumping jacks.
Unfortunately cheetos eliminate the 100 or so jumping jacks.

to be honest, it's actually hard for me to gain weight (due to my health and I do have a balanced diet) but if I were to watch anime on my cell phone (darn it me for having a Virgin Mobile phone) I would want to work out while watching anime. That does seem like a nice idea...

Maybe there's a character that you really like and they are very determined to accomplish what they want to do. I remember a few years ago I read the manga Whistle and as I read it, I I tried to be like Shō by practicing the sport I was playing more. Then I tried out for the soccer later on (and somehow made it). xD
