Yeah definitely avoiding it would be a mistake. It's amazing. If you read the manga or not, if you like emotional stuff, this is for you. I love this mans work, he knows how to push you to the limit of your emotions. Even though this skips and is very fast paced from the manga, it is definitely worth watching. People might disagree, but I think they are doing a great job conveying the feelings of the manga.

absolutely not, the anime is good, really good. to most of us who have read the manga, we are reliving the horrors of this arc.

Seo Kouji is the biggest troll ever. Which is why he's such a good writer and in my opinion, one of the best manga story tellers in the genre.

I'm kinda curious where the anime will end to be honest but I imagine it could be some sort of happy ending, maybe.

I think they did a poor job with the anime. I only watched the first 2 episodes and did not have the urge to finish the rest. The animation really bothered me a lot, because Seo Kouji's artwork is amazing in the manga (also all characters voices were a lot different then i imagined ).

My favourite part of the series was when they were all still in the countryside leading up to the Tokyo Arc. I wish the anime started from the beginning, I think it would of made me a little bit happier. Now the manga is super slow, I'm just reading it for the sake of it. Hopefully it ends soon so he can start up a new series (or make Princess Lucia weekly )

I'm actually curious if this will ever get an anime adaptation someday.

I also hope that he finishes up Kimi Machi soon, and without unnecessary drama involving the most recent girl.

He also has Half & Half, which is really good. The one-shot was very nice, but he switched up the story for the serialization and I think it may be better in the long run. The one-shot of Half & Half was published along with a two chapter story called Love Letter and another one-shot called Azusa. They were in a tankoban titled Love Letter. Azusa is a sweet story about mistaken identity. Love Letter is based on the true story of a woman during World War II. It is heartbreaking and fantastic.

Just checked out the beginning of Princess Lucia and it looks awesome! The characters are kind of familiar though... You have Yuzuki with horns and light hair and Yuzuki with glasses and Asuka, and Haruto as an artist... I just wonder when a Suzuka/Nanami clone will show up... LOL I can't wait to read it!

Maybe just a pet peeve of mine, but it really bugs me when people make judgements based on two episodes and feel the need to let other people know... Nothing personal.

I really like the early part of the manga too, but, to be honest, if they did the whole thing, starting at the beginning, it would take at least 8 or nine episodes to get to the Tokyo arc. If they did that, there would be a ton of people that would give up on it because it would be just like every other rom-com out there. The writing is pretty good in that part of the manga, but what really made it stand out was the art. It doesn't really get good until Haruto goes to Tokyo with Yuzuki and you start to understand what the real reason she came to Hiroshima is.

I read that the choice of starting with the Tokyo arc was made by the mangaka, because he thought it would take too long to get to it and he considers that arc to be the most important in the manga. Really, to do it right, you would do 1 season in Hiroshima, ending with Haruto making the decision to move to Tokyo. The 2nd season would be the Tokyo arc through
Then a third season would be needed to

half and half is pretty good, I do think that a period of 1 week is kinda short for events to take place

Maybe he wrote Half & Half so he could have an anime adapted that would cover the entire story in a single 12 episode season, without anyone complaining about the adaptation skipping stuff? The chapters are long enough that you couldn't really do more than one chapter per episode... hmmm... :)

Lord knows his other manga to get adapted have been slammed for that! (Not just Kimi Machi, but Suzuka too.)
