Seo Kouji should work on his endings a bit - they teeter out and lose the impact, drama, and connectivity of the earlier parts. It also bugs me that they are just one chapter stories and don't have much real plot. You read the first how many chapters and get hooked and get connected to the characters and everything, and then nothing happens and the characters lose a lot of depth - he should learn from the characters in Bakuman and not force the manga to be longer than it needs to be and make the chapters you release exciting and full of content. I still really like his manga though - if he ups his game a bit more, he will be making master pieces soon.

Seo Kouji makes his stories more realistic. He really makes it seem like something that could happen to anyone each chapter. That's why the manga has gone through 6-7 years in the story. I feel every chapter is it's own story, just like everyday is something new in real life too. That's the whole point.

I know certain people like certain things, but I enjoy the way he presents his works, but that's just me.

With Suzuka, I kinda wished it were a little longer, but then I realized, there wasn't too much he probably could have done with the story. Unless we got like 30 chapters of Yamato and Suzuka cuddling, reminding us of how much they loved each other, and another 10 to focus on the side characters (which there wasn't as many as KNIM).

If only it were like Bakuman's Reversi. Ending the manga when the anime started. Oh well though.

Yeah, I can understand that as well.

Well, here's to hoping that the anime and the rest of the manga is good for KNIM. We turned this into a a manga discussion dump. That was not my intention.

Is there a manga discussion thread for this?

Wasn't my intention either, haha.

I was just trying to get people to not judge this wrongly and give the anime a shot :] Cause it'll be worth it ^^

I didn't see one the other day...

I really love the fact that Seo shows relationships at all phases, and realistic progressions of them. For instance,

I feel like Seo's writing style has gotten more seinen as Kimi Machi progressed. Suzuka was pure shounen romance, but Kimi Machi, despite the demographic of the magazine it is in, is really a seinen series. It pays far more attention to the relationship dynamics and the characters are far more complex and realistic than most shounen works.
