The fact that his writing can elicit such strong emotion should be very pleasing to Seo. Of course, his art elicits strong emotions too...

I don't nitpick on hair color at all, but Haruto's hair choice (at least that shade of brown) is really bad.

It's hard to call something that was written by the same person a rip off... It is kind of like a sequel, with better writing, because people do get better with practice. To give you an example of how the characters differ:

Gotcha; at first I didn't know it was the same mangaka, so that's what I was referring to there. And I didn't mean to be harsh or anything, I was just really surprised. And I was kind of curious how someone more familiar with the story would react if I brought it up; a mellow response would be a bit worrying, but a sharp one is a good sign.

What you've said is really helpful; thanks.

Glad I could help. I was laid up with a bad back for a while when I was researching the Summer shows and decided to read the manga. Finding out that it was basically a sequel to Suzuka, and included some of the same characters, I decided to read Suzuka first, then watched the Suzuka anime while I started reading the manga. My back was hurting so bad that I couldn't sleep for about four days straight, but the extra reading time let me finish 234 chapters of KnIM in those four days. I really got into it. I rank KnIM as the very best Shounen romance manga I have read. The story and writing is far superior to what Seo did in Suzuka, and his art is fantastic. Though the nudes in Suzuka are much better. The KnIM nude scenes are all barbie doll style with little to no detail. The Suzuka nudes are as good as Kaoru Mori of Emma and A Bride's Story fame).

The nudes should be better as time goes on, hopefully they show it like the OVA's did, cause the manga the whole time were just nippleless boobs, I hate those!

Hey hey hey, I do too, but when you watch a show or read a manga and you see random light or fog covering up breasts, or nippleless breasts, it kind of gets annoying. Like, just show it, it's distracting to look at the censors so just show it. That's how I feel, haha

mmm I thought this title sounded very familiar , I must haved seen the OVA from last year ?

but never read the manga , so for someone who has never did , I think after watching this anime , I find it quiet nice but it does feel like a sad romantic novel.

:) , I like Hosoya kun in these roles.

I recognized Hosoya immediately but his voice gets a bit deep for his young teenager character .I always wanted to hear Hosoya's Hiroshima ben and here it is. I love listening to accents, its music to my ears . I know he has been doing a lot of characters with accents . But I always wanted to hear his since he is from Hiroshima.

I was at HIroshima MIyajima area but I could not recognize their accent back then ,
I was too worried I wont be able to understand and respond back in nihongo

Sad romantic novel.... I'd say it qualifies, especially the Tokyo Arc. It has its happy moments and turns happier as the story goes, but the part of the manga where they are starting is one of the most painful, gut wrenching, arcs of manga I have read. It is sublime...

If you can recognize the accents that makes this episode even more special. BTW, Haruto is not that young of a teenager. He moves to Tokyo for the 2nd term of his 2nd year of high school, so he is close to 17 if not already 17. I am really glad to know that his seiyuu has a natural Hiroshima accent! That makes it even better!

Thanks for the story tip....maybe I will just stay with the anime adaptation to avoid more gut wrenchingness,...

Yeah my Aikido sensei is from Osaka so I guess I got use to hearing his accent lol and some of my classmates where from Osaka too , so when I hear anime character with accents , a bell rings in my head and I would say that sounded familiar lol.

I wished I stayed longer in Japan. Maybe someday,

But so far I like this drama which is probabaly why I liked Shinkai sensei movies ...

Cool. I haven't studied Aikido for, damn, over 20 years I bet... With arthritis in my lower back, bursitis in my shoulder, and problems with pinched nerves in both elbows it would probably be a bad idea to pick it back up... LOL (I think a 3rd control technique applied to my right arm might just knock me out by itself!)

I always love it when people are able to give info about things like accents and such. It makes the shows that much more enjoyable when you feel like you understand more of what's going on. I'll have to admit that I wondered how well the whole dialect thing would translate to anime when I read the manga. I think I got the gist of the two accents from listening to them though. The subtitles helped with the "Z" in place of "S" bit... Made it more understandable.

I just checked the stats on Nabe!! earlier and part 1 of my preview for Kimi Machi is one of the most viewed posts of the month with only a week on the site, and the 4th most views of any of my posts behind the Episode 1 reviews for Gargantia and Photo Kano and the Golden Time anime announcement. news post. (It is tied with the post I did about the tease of a FMP! announcement that should be published in Dragon Magazine any day now.)

I can't decide if I WANT the anime to make me rage as much as the manga did. While it clearly shows the author did a good job writing it... the feels man!
