I almost got jumped by 3 white dudes one time on my last day of high school...I had to run like a cat running from a pack of dogs. They was after me couse I was black. The high school I was going to had all white but me and them 3 would alway call me a nigger and say "we don't like you're kind, so get the fuck out". If I had killed the 3 dudes and had no remorse like GZ, would I also be not guilty? That's standing my ground too after all. Ah and I had never even talked to them 3 dudes before. I had no idea what to do, I always had to watch my back, and all because I'm black.

First, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Secondly, had those thugs had gotten the drop on you, you may not have had a reasonable ability to retreat from the situation. Hundreds of people are killed by unarmed beatings in the U.S. every year, so you would have had a reasonable expectation of death or great bodily harm. So YES, you could and should have shot them dead (if you were armed) rather than let those vicious punks kill or cripple a good young man.

Sorry that happened to you, Kai! That is way uncalled for and I hope those guys get what they deserve one day. People like that are the reason I hope (and wish) karma exists. Also, I agree with the above poster I quoted. From the way they were viciously treating you, you have every right to protect yourself.

edit: like that avvi too, teen titans robin x raven needed to happen!

Just a bit ago the jury found GZ not guilty in killing Trayvon Martin. Not even a manslaughter charge. So word of warning everyone stay away from Florida.

Honestly, I agree with the verdict. The evidence heavily support Zimmerman's side of the story, and he didn't seem like a man who would just kill someone. However, Zimmerman should've never gotten out of his car that night and this incident should've never happened. Well that's my two cents anyways. This is a sad story either way.

They call that manslaughter iirc
The prosecutors over charged in this case. It should have never been 2nd degree murder.

George Zimmerman, OJ Simpson, and Casey Anthony should form a club titled: "The Getting Away with Murder Club".

Yeah, I heard people were lighting buildings on fire.. what the hell.
I do believe he was most likely guilty, but you know.. it's not worth burning buildings for.

Zimmerman is most likely going to lose the civil case(getting sued). He was responsible for the death of the kid. He initiated a confrontation that led to the death of a kid.

Maybe Zimmerman was trying to sexually assault the boy, Gasp! So when he felt like it was a fail he silenced him. Jk.

One kid died in a suspicious scenario. Honestly? I dont give a rats ass about this sort of thing. Its ONE person among billions. One ant gets the magnifying glass. People starve to death every day. People are sold as slaves every day and/or tortured. One man was shot and everyone puts on their outrage face and marches around in a hooded sweatshirt. What about Nazi concentration camps? Atomic Bombs? Genocide?

...This is why I say that I do not care. We have bigger things to worry about. You kids are in for a world of hurt when everything comes crashing down and you have to worry about your own hide.

Based on the evidence, there was no way they could convict him. You are innocent until proven guilty and we have to respect the decision the jury made. It is a good thing we aren't ruled by mob mentality as everyone accused of a crime would just burn without any due process.

The only reason this case even made it to court is due to race profiteers that spread racism to increase their own wealth and power. Its disappointing that any state caved to pressure from others to prosecute someone without substantial evidence.

If you think this makes it worse for blacks, then you are mistaken since most killings of blacks are done by others of the same race. (over 90% irc) and this case is simply blown way out of proportion thanks to a media that loves sensationalist news to boost their ratings.

I'm not so sure...the state provided no evidence that Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. Following a person on a public street is not initiating a confrontation. Zimmerman claims Martin approached and assaulted him, and evidence was presented to support that.

Indeed, following a person is not illegal, and he had lost sight of him, got out of the truck to check an address and was attacked. Based on the consistent story.

A criminal trial is different from a civil trial. The burden of proof is changed in a criminal trial to a civil trial. The one fact I know is that the Police told Zimmerman not to follow the person(Martin) and wait for police, the responsibility on Zimmerman is damning.

O.J. Simpson was found not guilty for the death of his girlfriend and her friend but lost the civil case because he was found responsible for the deaths.

First, you guys that act like Zimmerman killing a kid is any different from any other murder need to get off of it; you don't actually care any more than the others, you just don't know about them because the media didn't hype them up. Second, there is a good reason him and the other people like OJ "get away" with these things, but they're all reasons that you are not privy to but an entire panel of jury members were and because of those reasons that YOU HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT is why they're free.
