So there have been multiple points in my life, and I'm sure your lives as well, where
I have been asked for my opinion...in general I give my honest opinion but it's not always
The things people want to hear and in retrospect I could have given the opinion that suit
the times, and way people currently think. My question to you is when you come to these
situations do you purposely give the more accepted opinion? Or do you speak your mind on
it and whatever may be will just be?

It depends on the person and the situation. Sometimes you have to give an honest opinion or sugar coat it

I do agree that sometimes sugarcoating is needed but I'd rather not if possible, myself

The blunt truth is sometimes necessary.
As for myself, I usually say what I want to. Exceptions are during times of sadness and such.

The real question is if the person can expect the truth and if they can't it there no point but to sugar coat it

I simply tell people the truth, no matter how hurtful it is. If they choose to de-friend me, oh well, can't be helped.
I see no benefit in it for me by sugarcoating it.

depends on who it is. If they can take the honest truth then I will give it to them. If they cant handle it then I will try to imply it or try to get them to realize it without slapping them in the face with it.

Maybe they need a slap in the face

I speak my mind and it bother people but like I give a shit about them lol in this life you should only care for yourself regardless

i spoke my mind once in class and accidently made myself out to be a supporter of genocide when all i was trying to do was give a proper definition to it. From now on the safe option is to just not say anything, i have my opinions in my head, i don't often say them... unless i'm sure i'm right i'm extremely hesistant to say anything so i don't get shown up.

I see no problem with speaking my mind most of the time, but I will also usually chase that with reasoning as to why I think that way. If some people aren't mature enough to do the same for me rather than just saying "NO, YOU'RE WRONG" and try to berate me childishly rather than offer reasons of their own, I have no business with those people. I don't mind trying to see things from another person's perspective, but if that person is unable to offer any semi-logical reasoning and wants to present serious opinions about big issues, I will have none of it, especially if the response is hostile and emotional without regard for any sort of civilized debate.

That being said, I do have many unpopular opinions. Many popular ones tend to be overly-emotional and appeal to emotion rather than logic, which usually doesn't lead to the best results since one's emotions will constantly change and are not reliable for forming grounded, serious opinions.

me, i give my honest opinion every time. i dont really care if people agree or not. i dont sugar coat, or backpedal. i dont lie either. i find that in the end, even if people dont like me, they respect me.

I always tell the truth, even when I lie.

Sometimes it's better to tell the truth, and sometimes necessary to tell a lie. But I do like to speak my mind, but there's always a time and place for it.
