In your own opinion, just share what you think is the best OST from anime.

I may edit this in the future but right now the OST from Rinne no Lagrange is pretty epic and well placed throughout the anime, in my personal opinion.

I just wonder what else people have to share about their personal favorites?

[Mod edit: Added "Anime" to title since apparently that was the original intent. But if you're wondering why some posts list OSTs that aren't for Anime, that would be because the original title didn't specify. --lorreen]

I often find myself listening to "Tsuna Awakens" from KHR. Great song to do home work to.

I've herded quite a few great OSTs in my day...

Mushi-shi
Samurai Champloo
FMA: Brotherhood
Natsume/Baccano/Durarara
Bebop/GITS
Aria
Inuyasha
obligatory Yuji Kajira mention
Shigurui
Hellsing/FLCL

Can't say I have a favorite though, just wouldn't feel right.

cheers! yeah, I was just curious about all the personal favorite's. I'm going to go back and listen to a bunch.

-edit-

the title of this thread is the way it is because the other threads got closed(for some reason) and this one is technically not exactly the same...

Macross Frontier takes the cake for me. I listen to the most songs from this OST than any other.

There's so many great ones, it's hard to choose -- especially since my preferences change with my mood. Lately, I've been listening to Sora no Woto's OST a lot though:
Calming (and maybe a little sad) music is probably my favorite, and Sora no Woto is great on that point. Anything by Ootani Kou (particularly Gunslinger Girl) tends to be nice, and recently I've quite liked Chihayafuru's soundtrack as well.

Mandatory mention of the a cappella version of A Cruel Angel's Thesis from Neon Genesis Evangelion by Eri Kawai (Shrapnel893 linked it in this thread a couple weeks ago). And two personal ones I think might escape notice:

Sora from Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaea.
With Reflection from Origin: Spirits of the Past (watch this one as well as listen, ideally).

Someone else can pounce on the Ghost in the Shell and Guilty Crown OSTs.

Edit: Also Pinocchio from Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino. This one makes me wish I'd never quit piano as a kid.

I didn't like the movie very much, but it continues to sadden me that the soundtrack is out of print. It was really the only reason I enjoyed the movie.

That's the only reason I saw Origin: Spirits of the Past as well. Terrible movie, but awesome opening.

I kind of liked the Escaflowne movie though; I haven't seen the anime and don't really plan on it, but from a "modern" mecha perspective I liked how the machines actively cannibalized their pilots and effectively shredded their humanity.

It was a nicely fanged metaphor for the self-destructive effects of achieving overwhelming power at any cost.

AOT or Guilty Crown, I haven't listened to a lot of OST's, so I'm being completely biased.

Ah, that makes sense. It was definitely at least worth watching, but after watching the series, the characters just seemed kind of flat to me in comparison (which is what usually happens when you condense dozens of episodes into a couple of hours). Regardless, with Kanno handling the soundtrack, it was very easy to just kick back and bask in the atmosphere. A good soundtrack can make almost anything worth watching for me.

Sword art online or Fairy tail ost are good

Bleach is awesome

Aquarion Evol is amazing (the music is better than the anime)

If it's musically challenging and/or emotional, I like it

"Tsuna Awakens" from KHR - always reminds me of Rocky's theme, but I like it too
