I don't get it. The "cover story" is about the guy hence he is on the cover. Where's the problem?

Rolling Stone is, or WAS, for that matter, a music magazine, so what the flying fuck is a terrorist doing on the cover?

Stupid...

That magazine has strayed so far away from music nowadays, and has become more centered towards liberal politics and TV.

I think I bought a Dave Matthews Band album like 7 or 8 years ago and got a subscription to Rolling Stone for a year and thought it sucked. It's like the equivalent to MTV, where nowadays you don't see actual music television until the dead of night, if they even still do that.

On to the actual idea of them putting a terrorist on the cover, I'm surprised they would've opted to make it a cover photo. I can't see that doing any good for them. It probably doesn't bode well for those that commit these type of acts for the infamy anyways.

RS, I am disappoint.

Well, their medium is dying, and they do desperate things to get sales I guess.

People are surprised by this why?

I don't really pay much attention to magazines but I'm sure that they have been putting picture of terrorists, murderers, rapists, etc. on the covers for a while now.

How do you figure YOU decide what they should or shouldn't put on the cover? If it was a musical privilege to those who created it, they probably wouldn't have put him on it. If you want a magazine where being on the cover is a musical privilege, maybe you should create one yourself. But until then, you have no right to tell people how to run their business.

And anyway, this isn't glorifying the man. It's talking about the incident.

It's what they were built on, nothing about me wanting to run a magazine. Nor was I telling anybody "How to run one", I was asking how he deserved what the magazine calls a privilege.
They originally started out talking about only music, their whole thing, up until this past year, has been their cover is reserved for the artists they feel have contributed the most to the music scene.
Not entirely sure why you got super ragey about it =)

I respect freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The content doesn't appear to glorify his actions, but arguable the picture may be trying to cast him in a good light (as do pretty much all heavily photoshopped and edited magazine covers). It's within their rights to print it and it's within our rights to not buy it if we don't want it.

People are allowed to change their mind when it's their idea, and you have no business telling them what they should do with it. Maybe I should get "super ragey."

Sorry, next time I have an opinion I won't post it on a forum meant to share opinions.
Either way, calm down
