What do you see when you see me?

Name: Loken Ryvall
Age: 35
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 195 pounds.
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Appearance Description:

Loken is a tall, bearded middle aged monk who used to live in high mountains. He has medium length brown hair that presents itself in various styles, and a well-kept brown beard. He stands at 6 feet tall, towering over most people and is ripped with muscle from training. He wears white bandages on his hands, covered by red stone gauntlets with small green gems embedded in them. His upper torso is bare, excluding the large sash of oversized beads he keeps on him, a symbol of his temple. His lower body is covered by a pair of baggy jet black pants and a piece of white fabric tied around his waste, held by a large yellow stone buckle, with a green gem in the center. his feet are covered by traditional worn out sandals, and his entire appearance gives of a look of intimidation yet seems to be worn out with time. Yet despite that his nails are well kept and his hair is usually combed. Scars cover most of his upper torso from years of fighting and his skin has been tanned from overexposure to the sun for too long. He is generally considered to be handsome by those his age, though he looks older then he is.

Who am I?

Personality: Loken is a quiet man, stemming from years of meditation in the northern temple. He prefers to do things himself, and while he will rely on the assistance of others on certain occasions, he will always take a task on himself if it is possible. He prides himself on being helpful to others, as his training as a monk has taught him kindness. He is never the first one to start a fight, but he is always the first one to end it, believing in the concept of necessary violence. That being said, he never resorts to violence on his first attempt to solve a problem, as he prefers reason. He is very protective of his temple and the spirits living there, and is willing to give his life to protect it. His entire reason for wanting to become Shaman King is so that he can help the spirits of his temple who are in risk of being whisked away by fresh faced Shaman. He is a man who believes in second chances and it takes quite a lot to make Loken think that someone is irredeemable. He always give the people he meets the benefit of the doubt, listening first before signing of on someone. He wants to believe in the good of mankind, but recent years have been taxing on that belief. As he sees the suffering in the world, he cant help but wonder if his opinion is belief correct. He is not a man easy to anger, if anger exists in him at all. He likes to keep his spirit calm and relaxed, believing that a calm spirit is the path to true perfection. Yet for him, true perfection is an impossible goal, a never ending pursuit of superiority that drives all humans to be better. Yet that impossible dream, along with his desire to protect what is important to him, is what drives him to move forward
Dreams:His dream is to become Shaman King so that he may give peace to the spirits of his temple.
Fears: His only fear is one of failure, that he is not, or will not be good enough to protect what is important to him.
Likes:Meditation, Spirits, the feeling of calmness, Nature, Black Jellybeans
Dislikes: Unnecessary Violence, Big Cities, Loud People, Machinery, Dairy Products

What is my past?

Shaman Element: Fire
History: Loken was born the son of a Monk of a Temple in northern Thailand. His parents had traveled there as youth, and his father had become intrigued by the Monk lifestyle he saw there. The Monks accepted his father as one of their own and trained him in their arts. Years later Loken was born, becoming a Monk himself at an early age. Loken quickly discovered as a child that the Temple was home to many spirits, be they of animals or people. He spent his days playing with the spirits, as he had not many friends, most kids seeing him as the weird temple kid. Being home-schooled didn't help much either, but it allowed Loken to spend more time with the spirits who had become his friends. Yet word soon began to spread about the spirit infested temple, and soon shamans from all over the world began to flock to the temple in search of a new spirit guardian. Loken's childhood took a turn into an age of sadness as more and more of his spirit friends left with Shamans. Most did not want to be guardians, but the shamans were relentless, staying day after day, pestering the spirits until finally they would cave. Loken grew angry at the Shamans who visited his temple, and when his father died and passed the Temple onto him, he made a change, not allowing visitors save for the monks of the temple. Yet people would try to fight their way in, desperate to find a spirit for themselves. Loken began studying the ways of the Shamans himself, so that he could fight off these intruders, bonding with a group of animal spirits he had known since the beginning, known as Guardian Soul. This spirit, composed of the Great Bear, Great Turtle, Great Tiger and Great Phoenix spirits became Loken's closest friends, as well as his Guardian Spirit. He continued over the years to fight for the peace of the spirits of the temple, yet he was slowly losing. The spirits of the temple hated seeing him like that, and quickly began to give in to the Shamans so that Loken wouldn't have to fight for them any longer. Most feared leaving, but all the spirits of the temple loved Loken and did not want to see him suffer like he had. That was when Loken decided he would end it once and for all by becoming Shaman King!
