I've been a CR member for awhile now, the problem started a few weeks back. Basically, whatever I play the video stutters.

It's not my connection, nor is it the PC. I have ensured that all drivers are up to date, the problem persists whether I have background programs open or not, although background programs should not affect this, as I am running 16 GB DDR 3 1600Mhz RAM, with an SSD HDD.

It definitely has something to do with the service, as I can watch hulu, netflix, crackle, and other streaming sites without issue.

Does anyone have a resolution to this?

I'd really like to finish watching Attack on Titan, but the fact that it's like a stop motion picture, makes it kind of unbearable ;-;

What shows / episodes are you having issues with?

when saying anything, I quite literally meant anything.

I have been unable to successfully watch a full episode of any show on Crunchyroll in the past few weeks, without the video stopping/freezing/stuttering/etc. I can't even pause to buffer the video.

The service itself is absolutely unusable, even using 480p as the quality.

I have not found a single episode that I could watch all the way through, without the service being interrupted.

Most likely it is a problem on your end then concerning the operation of crunchyroll on your computer (corrupted file in flash, maybe an issue with throttling from your isp if they make use of that practice, etc.)

It's truly terrifying how many things can go wrong.

Have you tried CR on a different computer, preferably at a different location (and different ISP, if possible)? If you were able to try it at a friend's house, it would be rather telling if you didn't have the problem there, while if you did, it would make it rather clear it was an issue for your area, especially if your friend had a different ISP.

FYI, the buffer on CR videos isn't very long, perhaps only 1-2 minutes (they "why" relates to DRM), so pausing much longer than that is simply wasted time.

No, there is something definitely wrong with the service. I've gone through the CR tech service system to do all the troubleshooting they had me do (speed tests, ping test, cache clears, history clears, DNS changes). Seemed to work for a couple episodes of Attack on Titan then all of a sudden the freez-a-thon began again. Lots of people are having the same issue. Check these forums. We have to post here because we are sick of troubleshooting. We want a fix when we are paying customers. I don't think that's too much to ask.

It's not hardware related or network static. I never have any issues streaming 1080 on any other service.

As I've already explained, it's not something to do with my end. Please re-read the previous messages where I explain how every single streaming service aside from Crunchyroll that I utilize works just fine.

I have tried on my PS3, my computer, my room mates computer and my work computer, all with the same issue. I should mention that my work computer is hosted through a local video game company, and we have a killer connection there. The issue definitely stems from something on the CR end :(

And I agree with 1000Needles, I've been paying month to month for a service that can't deliver it's promise. That's money out of my pocket for something that I can't even use. It's pretty upsetting,

No, if the issue resolved, then returned, it shows that what you are experiencing is a symptom of another problem. It is indeed on your end, and most likely it is extremely obscure.

Computers are just shiny Frankenstein monsters, and when you combine multiple technologies they can get a bit weird. I can verify that within my own home I have not experienced any issues with crunchyroll (aside from the mobile app) for roughly a year, and yet I can turn to my brothers computer to be similar to your situation. Just yesterday he called me over since the interface for the player sudden stopped loading when he tried to watch the latest episode of naruto.

IF the issue is constant and persisits, it's on your end since any issue that was on crunchyroll's end would be noticed by almost all users until fixed. The service is working right now from my location in Southern California in the United States.

My recommendation is to uninstall flash, both the plugin and the activex component and then reinstall from adobes website.

If the issue resolves, then it was a file concerning the playback being corrupted/tampered. IF the issue returns fairly quickly then you need to start hunting for the program/malware that is messing with your system.

Not sure what to say to your problem, all I can say is I'm in the L.A. County near Malibu, using Time Warner Cable (20mbps download, asynchronous upload around 5mbps) and the streaming for me is fine, been subscribing for a little over 2 years and videos on a computer have been working for me with only one issue cropping up on my end since last summer.

Could be the provider's practices, could be old wiring along the network path between you and the other locations, electrical interfence if you are using UTP cable (Ethernet) or if you use wireless account for interference and check to see if there is a large volume of networks in your area that could cause interference.

Now there are issues with xbox streaming (quality switching since the xbox app does not allow you to select quality) and only issues I ever see with the mobile app are the wrong subtitles coming up for a just released show.

It is interesting that your PS3 is also affected, as unless something has changed recently, CR uses a different CDN for devices than the one for Flash streams to web browsers.

I do recall seeing a message stating they were working on incorporating a secondary CDN, but I am uncertain if that applied for Flash streams, devices, or both.

I live in the dorms over here in Japan. My friends and I are having the same problem. We all have the same internet provider. I'm able to watch maybe 40% of the shows on Crunchyroll. I start to notice the problems after AoT ep 14 came out a few weeks ago. If I log out, I'm able to watch the 2 min preview of the show as a free user, but the show doesn't even load with I log on to my account.

Are you watching via a VPN, or are those dorms on a government installation that gets recognized as being a U.S. (or other country's) IP address?
