I suffer through this issue all the time on PC... I usually refresh 5-15 times every 2 or 3 episodes...sometimes its none...
Worst ever was like 30 refreshes, just trying to finish a titian episode.

Yes, I have "updated my dns" and all the other generic network BS they say. My guess is that over the past year, year and a half... adding android, xbox, ps3, etc...they have either not looked into updating bandwidth in some time or maybe they did but severely underestimated/under-budgeted. We are not going to find out unless there is some announcement of some data-center switch and magically all of our freezing stops.

Does this happen on PS3 and XBOX? I'd be curious.. does it happen at the same time? Maybe there is some weird HTML issues if it's only on web browsers....

Maybe we need to petition or something, maybe commit signers to drop their service... even if its just for 1 month... just to get their numbers to drop...

o well ... back to hitting f5.

I haven't seen this with Xbox, and don't remember seeing anything similar for PS3, but both platforms have their own problems.

I have this issue as well. I have run bandwidth monitoring on my end to watch the draw and CR will pull in at max 20KB/s with an average of 12KB/s. It's really aggravating because at such a low transfer rate it's going to be impossible to stream HD. Even at SD, which why should I pay for SD quality, it still skips due to the low transfer rate.

I can instantly started any other streaming service and gets higher transfer rates. There is definitely an issue with CR.

Uh... I don't know if it'll work for anyone else and Im not sure if it worked for me BUT it did let me watch 1080 first time in month or so at my pc.

Rightclick -> Global Settings -> Playback -> "Peer-assisted networking by site"

Now I found this to be curious because CR never did ask for anything but what the hell, amirite?... Well, what I did was find static.ak.crunchyroll.com and set it "Allow".

Now Im watching 1080p without much issues, only the buffering at start is a wee bit slow when compared to others but I'll settle for this.

And as a disclaimer: I can't say this is your issue or not. Just worked for me, allegedly. I'll post back when I can be sure my problems are eliminated.

Edit 1: Finished latest Naruto and started to watch THE UNLIMITED Hyobu Kyosuke, 1st episode down no issues so far.
Edit 2: 2nd episode, back to usual CR antics. Crap.
Edit 3: Went back to 1st episode, runs without issues. Whaaat? Im confused. Im starting to think it simply can't be my end, but my android runs just fine...

I'm guessing it's dependent on the version of Flash installed on people's computers. When any software library like Flex (the "backbone" API used in Flash apps) receives an update, there is the chance that old code will develop new bugs based on changes in the platform code. It may just be a matter of posting the Flash version people have installed on their system to see if there is any pattern visible. (Mentioning the browser used and its version would probably help, as well.)

My system has Flash plug-in 11.8.800.94 (11.8 r800 -- probably should update to see if that helps at all) running in Firefox 23.0.1 (the latest version as of this post).

Update: Updating to Flash plug-in 11.8.800.168 seems to have made things even worse... now a video will start only about 20% of the time, and when it finally begins to play, it stops after a very short amount of time. Hm.

It worked fine all last week,1080p no problems,no buffering. Now today we are back to the same issues.Tried on 5 pc's (win/linux) on my home wifi and wired and also on 2 mifi's and also tethering.Flash is not the issue ,is CR backbone servers again.Had to finish watching what i was i watching by other means/sites.If this continues this way might as well go the other route and cancel CR altogether. Not having any issues on other sites just here.

I think you may be right, ravenskull. After some initial brokenness, I have watched three shows back-to-back with absolutely no problems. (And CR is the only site that ever gives me streaming video problems anyway.) Probably needs a more robust delivery infrastructure.

Same problem, CR used to work perfectly fine before but now the videos stutter and pauses randomly despite all i do, including the many suggestions on this thread and CR troubleshoot. Extremely inconvenient since the only reason i pay for this subscription is for the higher quality, which cannot even be played smoothly. My subscription will most likely end if this issue doesn't get resolved or if a CR rep tells me ''it's 'my' end and it's not their fault (ie, problem)" since they can't be arsed to provide a solution.

UPDATE: realized CR reps haven't provided any feedback on this thread for a week now... seems they gave up or really just don't care

Well today 1 out of 3 episodes i tried to watch on 1080p one was "fine",one choked but was able to catch up the last couldnt even finish even after switching to 480p.Ran same test's ...same results.Kinda getting tired honestly so i ran some test of my own trough a VPS of my own(changing the route i reach CR US servers) and there was "some" improvement...but like i said i give up.BTW roku and tablets and phone is fine,is CDN/Servers in charge of delivering media to pc not other devices. Wanted to support the industry but CR is making it hard at this rate if i have to go "other ways" of getting to watch the shows.
And before it gets mentioned,at least on my case is Not: internet provider, flash,OS system, dns, cache, corrupted flash installation, active x, direct x, network adapter, wired or wireless,malware/virus, geographic location issue.
Just posted a ticket and linked to the thread as well but dont hold your breath.

Just in case:
Flash Ver.11.8.800.174
Win 7 Ult (among other OS's)
Int Speed: 50 Mbps
12.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz
Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge at 3.4-4.6
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670
3 TB of free HD space.

Have you checked your router? I had the same issue up until a half hour ago. I changed my DNS settings on the router and now everything is running smooth in 1080.

This site was the key https://store.opendns.com/setup/

good luck

Howdy!

So, apologies for the delay in response.

You'll always get a faster response if you use the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page.

Can you tell me if you are using Google Chrome?
If yes, try disabling Chrome's built in Flash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDXLXaPitk8

If no, please email us so we can help!

Best,
