How would you feel about playing Attack on Titan, in terms of Sword Art Online?

Unlike in Sword Art Online, there are no dungeons, and you have to explore outside of the walls, where untold amounts of titans are lumbering around, prepared to tear you limb from limb and devour you. This would be a different scenario from canon Attack on Titan, where the humans have just begun to recolonize the outermost parts of the walls, and have set up rudimentary defenses and housing.

The titans can attack the areas outside of the 3 main walls, and the safe zones are within the walls. The main goal is to find the place where the Titans originated and ( i guess, destroy the source?).

what's this have to do with SAO? do you just mean an AoT VRMMO? honestly, I'd rather just play SAO. I'd imagine using the 3DMG would give some pretty serious motion sickness.

If you don't have anything constructive to post, don't post. -.-

Well, it was constructive criticism in a sense: she said it was stupid.

It sounds like it could be alot of fun and very challenging, like Demon's/Dark Souls where if you make one mistake you're probably not going to recover (before you learn enemy patterns/locations in those games.)

Using something like the 3DMG would probably give a lot of people simulation sickness though, they'd have to spend a lot of time and money developing safeties so people don't potentially end up aspirating while inside the VR. But for people that don't suffer from simulation sickness, experimenting with the gear and coordinating with other players to take down an invading swarm could be loads of fun.

I think it'd be better if no "Safe hub" was safe at all and vulnerable to impromptu invasions .

Balancing character growth in a setting like this though would be hell.

it's a good idea, but it would need to be a lot more abstract and intriguing than SAO if they were to pull it off because SAO fans may have a hard time actually committing to another game

Are we talking about the whole "die in the game, die in real life" scenario? If so, the mortality rate would be way higher than SAO. So, no thanks.
Attack on Titan is great- in fact, I consider it a better show than SAO- however, as far as the world and such goes, SAO has more potential. The show didn't do a great job with going into depth about the world of SAO, but you can just feel the untapped potential to be more than it was made out to be.
A separate Attack on Titan VRMMO game doesn't sound as appealing because EVERYONE would be doing the same damn thing: flying around on the 3DMG, sporting the Wings of Freedom, and trying to kill Titans to the sound of "Guren no Yumiya", and almost all of them will keep dying without killing a single one.

Would the players in this game use mechanics and gear like AoT or like in SAO? If they had skills and abilities like in SAO, but it was set in the AoT world, I think it would be interesting. Though it would be very scary to actually experience getting eaten alive by a titan, and feel the pain. Not sure too many players could stomach it if they feel the pain and fear.
