Hello denizens of CR.

Once again, I had to find out myself that yet another one of my pre-orders has had its estimated arrival date pushed back by more than a month

This time is was Kana Minami

Moved date from 7/13/13 to 8/31/13

Has ANYONE ever received notification that their item was having its arrival date changed?

I think I'm just going to stop assuming that anything I pre-order will ever arrive by the date listed in the store.

Will save me much aggravation! XD

We're working on a way to inform users of updates to release dates for Pre-Order items.
Unfortunately we're at the whim of the companies producing products, so changes in dates are usually due to production delays.

Hi Bjaker...or is it Baker? I keep seeing people addressing you with both! :)

I've noticed many delays this year for figures (nendoroid, figma, etc). Last year seemed so much smoother (maybe I wasn't preordering as much)

Hopefully this isn't a sign that the industry is suffering financially or something.

Anyways, thanks for responding. I'll just turn up my patience meter to max and break the switch lol

Heya!

Bjaker is my forum name & Baker is my real name.
(It was supposed to be a play on Bjork... Maybe I should have been Bjorker)

What I know about the delays...
SO! I'm not in direct contact with the companies producing the figures, however the Store Team is right next to me and I have to work with them pretty closely as we handle all Store Inquiries.

Most Production delays have to do with the fact that they're switching out molds for the different figures. I dunno what all this entails, but this is one factor that plays into delays. When a company isn't producing them, we obviously don't get the figures at the quoted dates. We're now posting more reasonable release dates for when we think we'll get the figures.

Shipping! We do not ship figures from Japan, we ship them from our warehouse in California. This is why you'll see figures for sale on other sites earlier than us. It can take an extra month for freight and customs before we do receive our product.

And those are really the two big factors.
