I guess Roku has rejected the update. Still shows version 1.3 back from Oct 5, 2012.

How long did the 1.3 update take to get approved? Might help determine how long Roku will sit on it.

I don't know but whether the new channel was rejected or is still under review, it would be nice if Bjaker could share a little info. I know it wouldn't change anything but at least I could temper my expectations. I've been checking Crunchyroll news every day for weeks.

I wish that they can let some roku users beta test the app with a private channel since I can't wait for Roku's approval! I want the new app so badly so I can buy premium again...

Finger's crossed for this week.
Would Mr. Bjaker like to give us a little insight?

I'll check with the engineers today to see where we are in the approval process.

Edit: Roku has asked us to change some things on the app, so we're working on that and then will have to resubmit.

Thanks for the update. Can you tell us if the requested changes are substantial? In other words, do you expect the app to be resubmitted within a matter days, weeks, or months?

I would expect a couple of weeks, but I'll see if I can get further info.

Thank you again Bjaker. Any additional info or timeline confirmation from the engineers would be great!

I'd like to give my thanks for the update on this as well! I've been checking the forums and the app quite frequently for news on this, so it's nice to know what happened. Thanks Bjaker!

I don't currently have CR loaded on my Roku. but I have noticed a caching slowdown over the past several months on other channels like Netflix AND Roksbox- which streams locally and previously VERY quick to load.

Similar to the parent poster (I am also located in Virginia), my crunchyroll app has had trouble loading random episodes over the past few weeks, though I have NOT had any issues with video playback once the playback actually starts...

It doesn't even appear that buffering is even starting... on the episode loading screen, the progress bar will stay pegged the left (does not move)... before today, when this has happened, playback would eventually start if I waited up to 60 secs or if hit back and tried to hit play again... once the video did start buffering (when the progress bar first started to move), loading only took 1-2 seconds, tops...

Today, however, I gave up after trying to load 2 different episodes of "my ordinary life" multiple times with no success (progress bar on the loading screen didn't move... stayed pegged to the left.).

Not having any issues with Hulu+ or other apps on roku...

Strangely, I have had no loading issues at all for the past month or so. Before that, I had a ton of issues with buffering times, frequent rebuffering, and playback quality. Now everything is back to normal for me. I'm not sure I understand why but the issues were supposedly caused by development of the new app so maybe since that is mostly wrapped up, things have gone back to normal?

There was a change to make cached videos last longer. This could be part of that!

(Roku changes still being made.)
