Well, looks like things are back in order. I just tested Crunchy, and it let me log in just fine.

Things must've really gone under their radar over there, because it took a while before they noticed and, apparently, even longer before they got it fixed.

I have recently discovered that it may be your internet connection that is preventing you from signing in. I was unable to sign in for over a week until Xbox Customer Service helped me with the issue. Resetting my internet connections to factory settings then reconnecting to my internet connection worked. I realized that a manual DNS had been entered in my network settings, and since Crunchyroll is a region specific app, that likely caused the malformed data.

I'm having the "the data retrieved from the request was malformed" error when I try to log in on my Xbox app. I have tried verifying my account, changing the password, rebooting the Xbox, removing the Xbox device/deleting the app/rebooting and reinstalling the app. Nothing works, my account status is good, payments aren't cancelled. Suggestions?

Same here. Was really hoping to watch fairy tail with my wife on my only day off this week. But we can't very well huddle over my tiny computer.

All- I figured out the root cause of the malformed data. It is from the servers being authenticated to CR and the way the app is written it appears. So it is regional- meaning the app has to verify what region you are from due to usage rights. So in a nutshell- likely your settings have changed on your system and that is causing it to malfunction (network adapter settings to be precise). I had my xbox set manually for some different settings to try to increase performance, and when I changed it back to DHCP or automatic- it started working right away (again network settings). So the FIX is to try setting it back to automatic on your network.

Yeah, I'm getting the "data malformed" error again too. Past few months, the 360 app just won't work.
