Funimation is an amazing company. Their anime is some of the cheapest you can get, their dubs are great, their packaging doesn't suck like other companies...*cough cough* Sentai *cough cough*. And their translations make sense. Also with the promised update on their site, we will soon have a great source of streaming with a huge selection of anime.

As for your issue with being in Europe, that isn't Funi's fault entirely, it's a licensing issue.

Funimation will likely open up to some parts of the rest of the world once they get a proper handle on the bandwidth issues they're currently having. They already license a lot of series for the UK, and have Manga UK distribute.

Its actually that they own many many licenses that cover the UK and just sit on them, manga uk then subliscenses rather than distributes. IE MangaUK bids to 'borrow' the license. Thats one of the things that so many of us over here hate, that companies a ctually own alot of the rights here and does nothing with them

I have and know it's a joke but I still question funimations prices. I have bought alot from them and sometimes their prices are great but sometimes their prices suck as well.

I honestly can't think of a time other than the early to mid 90's when their prices sucked. Especially compared to Sentai and Aniplex.

The one thing I can't stand about Funimation is their website. Did they have a ten year old program their server architecture? I haven't had to wait that long for a page to load for as long as I've been alive unless the page's servers are actually down. Absolutely 100% unacceptable; a case of pure inexcusable incompetence as far as I'm concerned. We'll see what happens with the site re haul whenever that happens.

Other than that, I only like them for the shows they make available to watch, but if they weren't so stingy about their licenses I wouldn't have the need to subscribe to 2 sites in the first place. That is my selfish reason, but whatever. They are a business after all.

However, they do have some amazing shows to stream, and honestly I'd rather wait for a page to load for 30-50 seconds than watch an ad on hulu. And when it comes to anti-consumerism, they aren't nearly as guilty as Bandai Entertainment from what I've seen.

Also, I could not possibly care less about their dubs.

Decent dubs, but such a crappy website. Half the time it doesn't load the page, or the video player uses Hulu for some reason and doesn't let me watch. The video quality is a complete POS for free users, I'm not expecting great quality, but when the "other" sites have better quality, you know its bad.

I just miss the way Funimation use to be on Youtube when they had full seres' dubbed and subbed available for free with ads. Then god knows what happend but they then blocked the majority in UK. Although I do believe they still have some older subbed content still available like the original FMA with all episodes subbed.
Also Funi do have a bad habit of using the same 3 voice actors for everything but recently they've been getting better and trying to bring in new talent.

Yeah this is why i havent done anything with funimation with hmmmmm like the last 6 or so months

+1 yes there site is crap especially compared to a site i am using on a daily basis wink wink

I'm curious if their new site will restore the forums. Those have been gone for about a month now.

Imagine the effect if CR did away with its forums for a month (or more).

I think the budget for Funimation's website is probably less than the catering budget for the last place I worked at.

I recall them making an announcement that they were taking down the forums in an attempt to improve the streaming aspect of their site until their new one came out.

So I would think that means the new site will have forums.
